Just playedResident Evil Mercenaries (and its included Revelations demo) and the graphic was not that good at all. This is the prime game used by Nintendo apologist to claim 3DS have better graphics than the PSP based off screenshots, but the actual game looks very underwhelming and can easily be mistaken for a PSP game. Also there are tons of animations issues: enemies moving in a slideshow pace/frame skipping, like a 2d spirit (ala doom) with very few transitional frames. Just admit that Nintendo gypped you all on its hardware pricing for a 2004 psp tech. This is the same company that is charging all their garbage games like steel driver 40 bucks for christ's sake.

PSP has nice graphics. DS has great games. Combine the two and I don't see a problem.

I'd say 3DS graphics is close to PS2 level. Probably a bit better than PSP in some areas, but I've never played a PSP myself. People who say the 3DS has 360 launch title graphics really get on my nerves.

Nah I find Mercenaries to be around GC verson of RE4. The enemies have some really jerky animation at times from a distance through.

And Revelations is looking better now then the demo.

I really do not care about graphics. Plus, the PSP had nice graphics anyways.

Hmm this is System Wars...look this game looks freakin good enough for me from a technical standpoint. Of course it's not going to be Vita level graphics which are reaching PS3 level hardware anyway.

3DS definetely ousts the PSP, by not by a massive margin. We're talking PS2 esque compared to the Wii esque. That said, the Resident Evil games are definetely as good if not better than your average PSP game. And one isn't finished yet.

Lol not even close. The environments lack detail and clothing on characters are low res. Not to mention the aliasing issues in 2d mode and the bad frame-rate with 3d mode on. The most impressive thing is the animation but then again it's the same animation system from the dreamcast DOA game.

I think many people don't even realize that the 3D effect on the 3DS means it has to draw two pictures simultaneously. So obviously the graphics won't be the best when it has to render two pictures at the same time.

Gameplay demo doesn't equal tech demo. But that tech demo was real-time (unlike, for example, the Killzone 2 tech demo which was just CGI).

They could easily make a rail-shooter with these graphics and a good skilled dev could make a "real" game look like that too (see Doom 3 on Xbox).

Well considering Nintendo themselves said not every 3DS game has to use the 3D effect, I do think they can get a lot more out if it (if their target is best graphics).

The PSP resolution is 480x272....the 3DS top screen resolution is 400×240.The PSP win....

The PSP resolution is 480x272....the 3DS top screen resolution is 400×240.The PSP win....

....I play Europa universalis III at 960p. the game has at best 15 3d sprites and the rest is 2D. Is Europa now a better looking game and a better technical achievement than any console game? Resolution when that close means absoulutely nothing,

By his logic the Sega Genesis had a lot better graphics than the SNES because it had a little higher res, despite SNES producing way more colorful games and advanced effects like Mode-7.

Yeah, this is a tech-demo but the final game could look like this in optimal conditions.

PSP doesn't even have any pixel shaders.

uc videos being played live looks exactly like the shots posted on here. I can't say the same for RE: Rev.
