Resistance 2 Beta, the Co-op has me sold

For the first time in quiet a while I felt like I was part of a real team of online players with objectives.

Things I like:

the three classes, Medic, gunner, and ammo guy. You can make a co-op room and play by your self, but YOU ARE not going to beat it.

The level system per job and the gear you can buy.

The amount of enemies on screen 20+ easy at certain moments vs your team of 8.

I like how the boss enemies take tons of bullits to put down.

And I really love the water physics, I had an enemy chasing me in the water and it rippled and waved, i've never seen anything like it. Wish I could show a video of this.

The graphics in Co-op are not ON SNAP, but they aren't ugly either. But the draw distance is insane as well as the amount of stuff on screen.

It's extremely fun. I've been playing it with my new SOCOM headset and it's amazing. People are pretty nice online, and teamwork develops itself, ex reviving.

Something about 8 vs 20+ enemies with bullits flying is just so cool about it. I really like being the guy that gives others ammo. And those enemies with the stars over their head are cool to face, and I love watching a horde of those tall skinny walking things gang bang a teamate. Funny. And its cool how anyone and speed up the reviving process of any fallen buddy.caseypayne69

Insomniac redeemed themselves, easily triple A caliber.

Even if each individual aspect isn't the best, the sheer variety between the three modes and the longevity that they should provide almost assures this AAA, based on what I've seen. I expect a 9.0.HeroOfCows

I agree with that. Even though I have little interest in this game, I think it'll definitely be AAA. The first one almost received a AAA and it was so barebones compared to this.

Orignally my purchase plan was in this order:

LBP, Socom, Resistance 2

now its

R2, LBP, Socom

I want to hear a resistance coop review from someone who owns halo 3 and cod4All_that_is_Man

cod4 doesnt have co op or does it i have no clue, but compared to halo 3 hah it beats it to the ground the rpg elements and just the sheer WTF moments in resistance 2 are amazing. there you go. Halo 3 was cool co-op but it was the same enemies every time in resistance supposedly the enemies will not be the same every time and will be randomly selected.

Prob wont get around to playing this until mid next year,

too many better games coming out.

Really it depends on what you like halo is slower then resistance and less populated (players on map). Cod 4 is more realistic in which you cant survive a whole slew of bullets. I like resistance 2 more then both its not to fast or to real its just right IMO. I didnt care for resistance mp though because it was way to fast, and it was way to chaotic.

I was kinda skeptical about this game....Of course reading up on it and seeing that co-op vid/ hearing your input has made me come to the conclusion that this game can pretty much be guaranteed an AAA rating. That or I might just be a little too generous, but I think this game will hold its own very well.

only 20 onscreen? Then you haevn't tried that mission where you have 20 guys shooting at you and 30 of those guys without guns running after you.trasherhead

Yeah but the grims are next to no challenge really, two soliders, one spec op and a medic and those guys are nothing.

Leave the other 20 guys to the rest of the team while you guys mop up the grims.

To me, GRAW on 360 had the best online co op experience. You really had to rely on grenadiers and automatic rifleman in that game.

1st were talking about a gaming company worried about people talking about beta's to a VIDEO GAME. The SEC can't even keep up with all liars talking bad about companies "saying bankruptcy tomorrow."

2nd they probably like it when people have good news to share.

actually for those like myself who are not in the Beta, enjoy seeing threads concerning the quality of this game... personally always been hyped about R2 and cant wait till it gets released... as you said devs like it when people talk about their games...

Question:- is the framerate steady when having lots of enemies on screen at once specially in online co-op? (i know it also may depend on the connection quality but is the game's framerate solid)

Could be Insomniac's first AAA game on GameSpot! They've been shafted over the years and never recieved such a score from GS :(.

Runs silky smooth.

Socom Conf, skiped and lagged like hell and as patches came it got better but never to the quality of R2.
