to them the game has failed because they feel as if they let fans down and they don't feel the feedback from r2 was as good as r1

R2 felt to............... how to put this....................Americans HERO (play American nation anthem here).

Also i felt the story in r1 was better then r2 despite Nathan hale being silentin the first. R2s characters also werent memorable other then hale where as I remember r1s characters as and wish they where in the second.

Hopefully r3 will start as hales mercy killer friend traveling to eu to meet up with R1s characters (+ more character dev put in and a seg of the game where you play as the other dudes past in russia). After playing halfway through the game the new Chimera leader will be reveled as hale himself still in human form but with Chimeran features.

I actually enjoyed the second one more. Lasted longer and I thought the coop was fantastic.

R2 was terrible no doubt IMO.

Second lasted about 2 hours more than the first for me.

You just really need an defined taste to truly appreciate Resistance 2's depth and gameplay. It's not your standard xbox mindless shooter.

i played R1 and i dont know, it just didnt click with me personaly. i mean action wise it was a good game and the multi was pretty good too. i really got to know it when my 360 rrod on me, the multi was pretty fun. my gripe was definatly the story, it just seemed so drab to me and i cant explain the real reason why it was how it was. maybe it was Nates akward silence all throughout, maybe it was the lackluster supporting cast in itself, i dunno. but if R2 is worse than R1 story wise thne ill have a serious problem convincing myself to get it. i wanted it but after hearing how the story is actually worse than the first, i may as well play the game post labotomy....

The campaign was decent, but the story was brutal

Co op mulitplayer was fun and competitive was a lot weaker in comparison. They need to change the gameplay significantly, it feels like you are floating

I never played R1 so I can't say which is better, but I really liked R2.

While the game is pretty good, I expected much better. RFoM had what I think it is a great storytelling and R2 ruined that for me.

All American Heroes, you got that right, so Insomniac you better fix this for R3.

Um no...Resistance 2 was better then 1 in every way...my god it was like a god like leap between the 2 in graphics, story, cutscenes, and AI.

resistance 1 had mario 64 graphics in areas, I remember walking through a bush in one area and noticing it was 2 2d images set in a cross configuration with code to make them turn with you so it looked like you were seeing a 3d image thats mario 64 tech right there. I never saw that in resistance 2, resistance 2 had better voice acting, hale actually talked, it had better pacing, better cutscenes it was harder then resistance 1, its online was better too, all resistance 1's online is is grenade matches.

I loved resistance 2.

Glad to see Insomniac acknowledging that the second one was a huge letdown to fans of the first. The only aspect of R2 I enjoyed was the coop. Everything else was a step down from RFoM.

If this is what the devs feel, I hope they learn from this failure, and make the third one better and end it at that.

This is actually a good thing, I bet they'll work twice as hard on R3 and it will deliver. :)

Dude, like amen to that. Fall of Man was sooo much better. Sooo disappointed with R2's campaign. Co-op should stay the way it was, though.

If you read the article, it actually says according to Insomniac, the overall fan feeback they received considered R2 to be a failure.

Personally I enjoyed R2 more than R1, but it was a lackluster sequel.

i've always thought of resistance to be a fun game but not a great game. it's solid in every way but it just doesn't have that it factors the put it in elite catagory of games like KZ2, halo 3, uncharted 2 and so forth. a lot of that it due to it's unorigonality which shows even more in R2. don't get me wrong i'm not one to say all games need to be innovative but they must of something that sets them apart from the pack and R2 felt way too much like every other game

I disagree. The game is awesome, the graphics aren't the best but it has a solid SP and a very enjoyable MP. Too bad it wasn't good enough to make mestopplaying COD4. Now waiting for MW2 to leave that old game alone.

I think I have a new favourite user.

r2 was probably one of the least interesting games ive ever played, literally nothing about it was standout, but it was very polished. campaign was so boring it was unplayable. multiplayer was fun, especially the co-op, but i never would have played it if my tennant didnt own it.

Resistance PSP > Resistance 1-2 PS3.

I don't know why... Maybe it's the crappy graphics or stale gameplay on the PS3 versions I don't like.

Think they should just scrap the whole IP and start something new again.

I think Resistance 2 was an improvement over Resistance 1 especially with the new weapons and 1960s feel. Many people disagree, but I personally love it. Overall, Resistance 2 is a great game IMO.
