A lot of things got done right in R2. And yeah, it's a Halo killer for me. Well, as far as the single player campaign(s) are concerned. It's a lot of fun and fundementally sound. Halo 3's campaign was good but nothing groundbreaking or terribly thrilling. A few good moments here and there. I don't know though, the vehicles parts of Halo 3 are spectacular. Tough call but it doesn't matter...

Xbox has Gears of War and that's the Halo killer. Even though it's on the same platform. That's just double win for Xbox owners.

multiplayer is amazing.

regardless of the quality of any other game, it wont effect the quality/fun factor of halo

also, the calculation of scores is flawed, for example...,

a 4/5 is basically almost the best a game can be.. but this gets converted into 80/100. using a 5 point system, a game an never get 90.

I never use sites that put scores toghether. As you said it only takes one fanboy site to ruin it all. And I will bet you anything that some sites do that.

Anyway why cant we just say that both games are awsome and thats it? Also those using score comparasons remember that FPS standards have increased greatly since halo 3 with COD4, farcry, battlefield ect...

It wasnt curb stomped by gears. In fact i dont recall Gears ever being above it on the most played Xbox Live list. Gears was always 3rd (except maybe for a few occasions) with Halo 3 and COD4 switching between 1 and 2. COD4 did seem to hold it, but then the map pack came out for Halo and all things went up in the air again.

You can't compare scores because standards change every year,really a 9.5 last year could be a 8.5 if released today.R2 is a better game then Halo 3,the only thing Halo 3 has on R2 is story.This is coming from a Halo 3 player myself and i perfer Halo 3 over Call of Duty 4 but i seem to have way more of a blast playing R2 then i even did Halo.If you don't believe me you can even check my gamertag on xboxlive Crode.

imo Gears is so much bettee than halo. The cover system alone makes it better. It graphically looks better, The enemies are better, the SP is better ect.

Plus COd4 has a SP that is as good or better, and its online is much better, more realistic, more tactical plus you want to play more as you unlock new weapons.
