Resistance Gears Rivalvry I Like It

I like the rivalvry between the two games. Insomniac vs Epic, PS3 vs 360, 1st person shooter vs 3rd person shooter, bigger is better vs less is more, fast and hectic vs slow and tactical. They are going head to head again this fall and although I think Resistance 2 will sell more copies than Resistance 1 I think Gears 2 will outsell the original GEOW and Resistance 2. Both games will be fun however.

The Resistance/Gears rivalry is also my favourite. The others are too unbalanced:

GT vs Forza- I don't even like racing games, but even I know GT wins.

MGS vs Splinter Cell- I like Splinter Cell, but.......seriously......

Tekken vs DOA- :lol: Tekken by an ABSOLUTE MILE, it murders DOA.

Can't wait for the Resistance/Gears rematch, personally I'm looking forward to Resistance 2 more.

Yet Gears has to date sold 3 million more copies then Resistence and believe it or not, is more FUN then the 40 multiplayer PS3 game.

How many years did GT have a head start to be an established franchise before Forza came into the scene.

Gears and resistance were both new franchises launched in the same month of the same year and Gears completely overshadowed the other.

Me too dude. Gears had too much bugs and unbalances to be fun. Seriously, shotgun v. sniper isn't even a match. You will get pawned without a sniper or a bow.

except that resistance was a launch title, and those sell better considering the quality and the fact that there's not much else to play.

look at red steel, or pd0, neither of those would be million sellers if they werent launch titles

Gears still destroys R:FOM, like I said before it's like comparing Medal of Honor to COD. one is clearly better at what it does.. having more players doesn't matter much if the base experience falls flat imo. i couldn't even bring myself to finish the sp for fall of man.... and don't get me started on the multi.

We've seen next to nothing on both games. You cannot say Gears2 will be better than Resistance2 just because Gears1 was better than Resistance1 (well you can, but it's a very bad idea) because a TON can change from sequel to sequel. You should base your expectations on info and media you have on the two upcomming games, not based on past games because they have absolutely no baring whatsoever on their sequels.

By the way, no I'm not offended at all... I like Gears of War more than Resistance anyways. :| It's just that your logic is flawed and unresonable.

I only said that because everyone was saying Resistance had no chance. Not that they should be compared.

Might as well compare Motorstorm 2 and Forza 3 :|
