Resistence 2 giant boss a lovable, misunderstood giant?

Lol there was a thread about resistence 2 and I thought about the scripted scene of resistence 2.

The giant had a soft, silky smooth and comfortable grip while holding the main character. The character has 0 trouble holding onto his rocket and takes his time lining up his shot, CALMLY waiting for the giant to open his mouth to say "hello".

The thing would crush the character if he was dangerous. But no, he playfully holds him and tries to talk to him....only to have a rocket hit him in the mouth.

i know where you're getting at, but that sort of thing happens in every major movie and video game. Why not just shoot austin powers when he is caught? It wouldnt make a good movie or game if the main character dies! It happens in Gears of War too buddy.Star67

Make sense? Every villian or monster in any movie/game has a chance to take out the hero. Why dont they do it? Well then it would be a bad movie/game. There is no debating this because it always happens.

It could also be the fact that Hale actually is half Chimera by the time, giving him more "stats". Also, the giant holding something smaller is a cliche, as the many we see in every game. King Kong, the Rancor in Episode VI, etc.

well you have to keep in mind that all chimera are made up of humans. Clearly their souls still inhabbit the mighty beast. Realizing that Nathan Hale was the last hope for humanity they loosened the giants grip just enough to allow nathan to survive.

Oh and if you don't believe that, the chimera was trying to eat Nathan if he smashed nathan he would have Nathan guts all over his hand and that wouldn't do.
