I know Matt Lees, he was an employee of Official Xbox Magazine.
It explains his association with 1st party 360 being better than PS3 based on how much time he spent with exclusives and wrote about them. He wasn't clear on what his opinion was based on, but perhaps sales, but that's not a way to measure quality of a game. Who can say what he used for measurements for that statement, we do know he played a shitload of 360 during his time with OXM. It's all good.
It's not that I completely disagree or whatever. He now works at Videogamer.com, eh? He could have made this video 4 years ago because this is an old take, not new as far as I'm concerned. It's not a bad watch though.
Either way, this is most definitely NOT a new take on Resolution. We've heard this before for YEARS, not to mention yours truly made very similar sentiments in SW many times in 2005-2010. There is more to power than resolution, but it seems the typical joes relegate the power conversation to simple "resolution" when the actual conversation has been about power, performance, resolution, textures, particles, et cetera.
He's right, it's more than just COD : Ghosts, it's about future proofing tech. Let's be honest too, COD : Ghosts is a lazy port so it's all very peculiar. They are using an old engine, pulling a "Gun" with the Xbone and PS4 versions. That is also why I'm surprised COD : Ghosts isn't running 1080p on both machines, I figured of all games, that lazy designed for PS360 game would be an easy one to hit 60fps/1080p on the new hardware. Peculiar.
Both machines, not just one, will improve over time of course. I read somewhere people suggesting we'll see improvements for Xbox One. Of course we will, we'll see improvements for both over time.
