Review your year in gaming

I'd give it a 8/10.

Not too bad, although not spectacular either, with the exception of Alien: Isolation, a lone shining beacon on the creative wasteland.

This is how I'd rate 2014 games I've played and finished (of course I've played some 2013 games too, but I'm not going to list them):

I opted for "plus", and "minus" to differentiate scores

9- Alien Isolation

8+ Titanfall

8 Forza Horizon 2, Sunset Overdrive (I've yet to finish it, I'm thinking of giving it 8.5 but I'll hold off for now)

7+ Far Cry 4

7 Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments, Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare

I have Shadow of Mordor but I've just briefly checked it out, I'll later trade it in for The Evil Within so with the exception of Dragon Age: Inquisition, COD: AW and MCC I'll have played all the major 2014 releases.

Overall, this year was meant to be bigger and there were numerous high-profile delays, such as Batman, etc. I can't say I'm complaining - at least this way I was able to get all those games, and while there was hardly anything mindblowing, I feel somewhat satisfied.

5 - Lord of the Rings: War in the North, Mars: War Logs, Murdered Soul Suspect

4 - Thief

Overall: 7/10. Good, but not great.

Slightly above average, but lack of time plus the best games being remasters bring it down. Old good games are still good, otherwise I'd score it lower.

Yeah, that's a 9/10.

2/10 on consoles. So fucking bad I jumped over to the PC. 8/10 on PC.

I think the only 2014 games I played were Azure Striker GunVolt and Super Smash for the 3DS and the Wii U. So yeah, not good.

My time was spent mostly playing these - Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, NiGHTS into Dreams, Mega Man 1-10/X1-X5/Zero/ZX, Symphony of the Night, Strider 2, Omega Boost, Castle Crashers, Guardian Heroes, Mario 3D World, Sonic 1-3&K/ Adventure/Unleashed/Generations/Lost World, Dark Souls, and Age of Mythology EXE.

Some awesome looking games released but I've played almost none. I've been "cleaning up" my 7th gen games instead, getting through some back log and replaying classics.

The Mass Effect Trilogy, on it's hardest difficulty and with all DLC, is my GOTY :P

Typical herm. Spend all of your allowance on nice GPU, but end up with no cash for games.

8/10. Pretty damn good if you look outside the so called established AAA franchises. Starpoint gemini 2 , endless legend , civilization BE ( though a bit disappointed mainly due to UI issues but i'm sure they will be fixed ), South park , Legends of grimrock 2. And i have yet to play divinity, elite damgerous and Aliens isolation

On the downside i'm a bit disappointed at FC4 ( though some of the disappointment has to do with technical issues such as micro stuttering ) mainly the characters were uninteresting and the only interesting character shows up what 3-4 times ? Also i found thief pretty mehh ( though i should give it more than the 5-6hours i played although i doubt it will get any better). Finally disappointed at the mess planetery annihilation is ( though under neath is actually a good game )

I do all my gaming on 360 and 3DS though.

Bravely Default: Didn't finished due to people saying the middle sucked.

Mario Kart 8: so much fun

Smash 3DS: great game on the go

Smash Wii U: Amazingly addicting

Baynetta: so far awesome

Bayonetta 2: haven't started yet since I still haven't finished Bayonetta 1

I'd give it a 7. 2013 was so much better but Wii U had a great last half.

10/10 simply because of DAI and Bayo2

On new year's day, I finished Walking Dead Season 1.

Then I started my annual Phoenix Wright series marathorn which lasted about 6 months

I also played sh*tload of New Vegas which was great.

And I played a lot of Dragon Age games in August

Played the hell out of MLB The show 14 RTTS on Vita

Also played about 10-14 hours of Legend of Heroes Sen no Kiseki

And nowadays I'm playing Fallout 3 and Pokemon Omega Ruby.

Overall, can't complain. It's not like I'm in a position to play newer games, so I don't really care about those. But the whole performance/buggy release fallout from those games were hilarious.

p.s. Olli Olli as well. Terrific game.

If your year was spent on the Xbox One like me, then a 9/10.

The updates to the console, the games, the news of what is coming all combined to make up a spectacular year. Hang on because the first year is just the beginning!

pretty crap year. I'd rank mine a 2/10. Every game i played this year i could easy live without. Just more of the same stuff.

Really solid. About a 8 or 9/10. Nintendo really made this an awesome year.

Pretty good here. Lots of great games on PC. Divinity probably a 7 (7 is a good score folks). Borderlands I just started playing on PC too they'd justify an 8 despite the pointlessness of it all.

On console Halo MCC a 9 (couldn't give a flying f*** about multiplayer just catching up on the SP ones I haven't played).

PS4 DAI a 9.8 I could have got it for PC but haven't got my PC hooked up to HDTV and even 27inch monitor at 1440p doesn't do that game justice. Big screen or don't f***ing play it.

Not an epic year by any stretch but I've had worse. Next year will be better for both consoles and PC will always have great games you just can't get anywhere else so no complaints here really.

Overall a bunch of good games, and quality shit. Wasn't anything up to snuff with a 2010 or a 2001, or dare I say 98, but it was fine. Didn't have a bunch of hyped up games, but what are you gonna do, and the year has Bayonetta 2. A game that is excellent, and would be excellent in any given year because the gameplay is that damn good.

Bad year 4/10.

In twelve months i've only enjoyed three n a half games lol

Worst year of gaming in a long, long time for me. 2/10.
