[QUOTE="Nedemis"] really? to me it sure seems as if facial recognition (for multiple users at once), voice recognition and control is quite a leap for a camera accessory. :|CreepyBacon
I don't think the camera technologydoes the actual facial recognition or voice recognition. I would think that would be software driven, using the results from the camera and the microphone.
I don't see the difference.
Theres a reason its getting so much press coverage and despite fanboys wildest dreams it's not because they bribed the media. It;s innovative, it's not been seen on consoles before. It could possibly change the way you play consoles all together. Even have a bigger impact than the wii remote ever did.
People cry that microsoft steals ideas and doesn't innovate, despite sony playing catch up with PSN for the last couple of years, coming out with an exact copy of the wii remote but with a light on the end. And nintendo? Nintendo don't even try they don't need to, the wii remote is all they need. If you can't see the potential in Natal, you're either a blind fanboy or you lack an imagination..majorly. I'm not saying it'll change the world but it COULD impact the industry in a big way.
...Or it could fail miserably and be a big giant mini game fest. But you cannot call it an eyetoy, that's massively downplaying it.
Well, I was focusing on the camera technology itself. Voice recognition and facial recognition I don't think have anything to do with eyetoy technology, which some people apply.
The BIGGEST issue MS has to solve with Natal is fixing that half-second delay or longer, especially with fast movements.
