Riddle: Why are sales, AAA exclusives, and GOTY's less important in SW this gen?

Wii might have 3rd most AAA exclusives, but it still has very few AAA's and AA's. I don't care if I'm playing an exclusive AAA game or just a multiplat AAA game, as long as it's good. I have all 3 consoles and I havn't touched my Wii in about 6 months because of the lack of games. Resident Evil 4 I've played already, Wario Ware is just mini games. And super mario galaxy is good I admit but it's still only one game. No more Heroes I havn't tried yet, looks too be good, but not sure as of yet.dackchaar

on the contrary, if you call yourself hardcore you won't have full next gen feel UNLESS you get a Wii, while either PS3 or X360 will do as secondary or primary, any one of them will do ;)

It is all about games and their quality and anything to do with quality of the services or functionalities of the systems. Nothing has really changed except people aren't as trusting of Gamespot reviews anymore.

The 360 had PDZ, GRAW, and I believe Gears of war in its first year, and the Wii had SMG, and Wario ware in its first year. As well as I dont see the point of discrediting it becuase it was out longer, it will always be out longer, (The 360 will always be out a year earlier than its competition, this wont change) will I not be able to play those game becuase they were released earlier? The 360 has about two times as many AAAe at this time as the Wii, and that is what someone is going to see if they choose to buy a 360 or Wii.

360 has PDZ, GRAW, Forza 2, and Halo3.

The Wii has SMG, warioware, and NMH.

As for halo3 it may come out on PC at one time, but it hasnt been anounced so it is still exclusive.

Does it really matter if a game is exclusive or not?

It comes down to whether the game is AAA or not, who cares if its multiplat.

In the end, it comes down to game library, and the Wii's is definetely the weakest. You can play a bigger library of better games on other consoles.

Exactly, this topic is dead on. If any other system, besides a Nintendo one had all of these, the war would have been declaired over long ago.

Instead, most of the fanboys on here, and I'm not gonna say who, try to marginalize these accomplishments, and raise up any negatives about the Wii, as if they are the only thing that matters, while the Wii's amazing accomplishments are nice but unimportant.

Dead wrong. AAAE, GotY's, and Sales are what we, not as a forum, but as a worldwide community, have always judged systems success on, and if we did go by those standards, then yes, the Wii deserves to be number one, like it already is.

Here is his justification:

A. Developers are moving away from making games just for the PS3 or 360, and are moving to multiplats.

B. Nintendo games will never move to multiplats.

C. Current AAAE games will move to multiplats eventually(which includes moves to PC) such as Mass Effect, MGS, and Halo 3.

D. Most games for the Wii are exclusive titles, due to the differences in the hardware, thus greater chances for AAAE games, like NMH.

E. Motion contextual games, will have a much lower chance of moving to the other systems, than will graphical intensive games.

F. So, as the years progress, the Wii will accumulate AAAE titles, while the other consoles will lose old ones.

G. The Wii produces the most first party games, and of those games, most of them are AAA franchises, which will never go multiplat.

Everything on your list is true except AAA's. They still matter, but you are right... everything else is being downplayed. And I believe that is because of the Wii. The fact that the Wii got GOTY bothers several, and No More Heroes as AAA i'm sure bothers people as well.

But honestly... SW is so corrupt these days, there really is little point as to looking into who is winning the console war.
