rock band 2 = 360 exlusive

TIMED exclusive that is

Harmonix and MTV Games have announced Rock Band 2 is coming to Xbox 360 in September exclusively in North America and on Xbox 360, with additional territories and platforms to be announced at a later date after the exclusivity window closes.

Rock Band 2's extensive song pool will be comprised entirely of studio master recordings featuring rock's "most prolific acts."

The drum and guitar peripherals have been enhanced functionality and design-wise.

The new instruments will be fully backwards compatible with the original Band and vice-versa. Additionally, all songs included with or purchased for the original Rock Band can be seamlessly added to Rock Band 2.

Additional Rock Band 2 details, including descriptions of new online modes, will be released at the E3 Summit in mid-July.

as long as they keep releasing dlc for the ps3 version i can care less. Im sure GH4 can last me till RB2 anyways.

well its being released in september, and they said that the other versions are going to be released later in the year, so id suspect it wont be that long before the ps3 version comes out after the 360 versionPhoenix963

Anyways, this is definitely a good move for MS, even if it's by a few months. I don't know if it'll really help them all that much, but Rock Band definitely has that mainstream pull.

Yea, I'm sure it'll be loaded with St. Anger songs instead of, well, you know, their best songs. Makes sense!

Seriously though, nothing Rock Band can do to get me to buy it over that GH.

They did this in Europe, would've been fine except it had already been delayed by like 8 months...

I don't really see the point, I can't see anybody buying a 360 for this, guess it's just for multiple console owners, so they are forced to buy the 360 version or wait 5 months.

Yes indeed. I have quite a few songs from DLC and it'll be cool to play 'em on Rock Band 2's drum set.

GH4 has (seemingly) just trumped RB2, based on previews, after RB1 trumped GH3.

I'll still be buying this game because I have all the instruments, but if I didn't have the instruments...I'd probably buy GH4

But as far as RB2 is concerned, I could care less where it goes, it's fun to play with friends but that's where it ends.

I dont like Rock Band. The guitar is too easy to be fun. Singing is incredibly boring. And the drums are too hard on expert for some songs, but incredibly easy on expert for others.

I didnt really like Rock Band. I gave it a 9 instantly because I was new to the whole music playing game genre. Then I got Guitar Hero 3. It blows Rock Band out of the water in my opinion.

Too bad GH4 is going the route of Rock Band. Will probably be easier too.

I liked the drums...like.. a lot...so that's why I gave the nod to RB

Well the article does say "later during the year", and RB arrives in Sept (IIRC, according to the article)....so....

i meant the month or 2 part..what would really be the point if a exclusive deal if it's only for afew months?

Also it seems Hammer ons and Pull offs don't work some times. Maybe that's cause I use the Xplorer controller instead of the RB one.waynehead895

Well the Drums in GH4 look pretty good compared to the RB ones. I don't think RB is gonna change the the drums much in RB2 if the drums can be played in both RB 1 and 2. So we'll see how that plays out.waynehead895

Agreed again....the drums in GH4 look totally bada## which is why I am more psyched for it then RB2. Also RB2 is using the same instruments (albeit I'm sure they'll release somewhat revised versions....but they're essentially the same).

The thing that sucks about GH4 is that the GH3 DLC won't work, where the RB1 DLC works with RB2.
