That's my question... The 360 software has seen more Japanese top spots than the PS3 and yet the PS3 outsells it 10-1 over there. :? I honestly think people are buying a cheap BR player...

i dont know, 312k for install base of 13mill doenst sound like a winner ot me. but then again 70k for 6mill doenst sound like a winner either. yeah it does when a game cost 170$ and when skate sold aroun 300k for 360 but only 20k for ps3
Harmonix and EA weren't able to make anywhere near enough copies to sell, anyway. It wouldn't matter what other platforms they put the game on, they've sold almost everything they were able to make for the holidays.

No the PS3 version has been about impossible to find. I had my preorder in a month before the game came out and I just got it last week. I believe Harmonix sold every single copy they put out. It's been very hard to find until just the last week on PS3. I've been running around like crazy to find it.

The 360 version is just the superior version. Don't forget to consider the install base on the PS3, and the ratio of 360 versions to PS3 versions shipped.

I know crazy huh, I don't know what they were thinking. I think they lost out on a bunch of sales because I know several of my friends cancelled their pre-orders when they didn't arrive. I almost cancelled mine as well.

Then how come Rockband up until about a week ago was selling for $100-200 more over list on ebay for PS3? I know because I was trying to find one.

If these numbers are from NPD they dont represent Sony's install base. NPD only represents NA and unlike the 360 which has around 70% of its consoles in NA, the PS3 is closer to 45%. You are missing two complete other regions of gaming.

Oh I hate people with the this kind of mentality. First of all, its a game and we all know itsa videogame noone with even half a brain ever stated that playing these peripherals is like thereal thing however that doesnt prevent our "enjoyment" from the experience what so ever. Its cool that you always have the option to spend a couple more cash on real life instruments (as in alot more) but for the people that just want to have fun we have to option to dunk downour money for Rockband and the afterwords play anaccessible and really fun game.
Hey, instead of playing those first person shooters why dont you instead enlist in the army?

I can say for a fact that I know more about this than you do. =P Gogo internet forum experts. They didn't make anywhere near enough copies. Some of the biggest retail stores in the SF Bay Area got a grand total of 20-40 copies that's supposed to last them until Spring 08.
