Was just a question of time. Personnally I don't really care but I'm sure many Wii owners will be happy.

Cool beans. Rock Band is a great game that could work for pretty much any console. Just as long as it doesn't have that mono sound proble GH3 for the Wii had, then it's all good.
I cannot help but feel that the Wii version will be gimped in ways though.
Hope they can work out the DLC (As those are better than the included songs IMO).
Wished the Wii supported Dolby Surround though....
What was a while ago? It was rumored before. That was a while ago.

Also enjoy your bad graphics, lack of band world tour (if they follow the PS2 port. Considering GH did, they'res no reason this won't). And lack of Downloadable content, the games best feature.

Almost entirely positive it was confirmed a week or two ago.

Why would RB follow GH3 just because? GH3 and RB are from two completely separate companies, so there is just as much a likelihood of them using the PS2 RB as there is them not using it.
Technical reasons.
GH had to limit the ps2 and the wii.
Rock Band limited the PS2. It's far deeper than guitar hero, it only makes sense the wii will have the same limitations. Guitar Hero having to put limitations on both consoles just reinforces the point. Especialy since, as I said, rock band is far 'bigger'.

Lack of 5.1 is the only reason I won't be getting it for the Wii. Same reason why I didn't get GHIII on the Wii.

Rock Band isn't a tech demanding game...
The reason GH3 Wii was the PS2 version with a few tweeks, is because it's easyer to develop one game then two... and then port the PS2 version to the Wii...
It's not because the Wii can't handle anything more advanced then the PS2 version...
If they just port the PS2 version it'll have the same limitations...
But if they were going to do that, why not do it before the holidays... It seems like they are actually developing it from the ground up for the Wii.

I would have bought 360 versions anyway since my friends all own 360s, but I still don't understand the decision to leave true 5.1 sound out of the Wii. I can understand the lack of HD res, but not really the lack of surround sound.

The Wii has 5.1, just not "True" 5.1, which is to say just about the same diffrence between HD and True HD... (IE very minor)

No, I'll support the Wii in almost anything, but not this. Dolby Pro Logic is true 5.1, but it does it in such a roundabout manner compared to discrete channels that the surround channels are of such low quality that it might as well not be 5.1.
Its a freakin awesome game...
Crazy to think the Wii only costs 80 bucks more then the game.
Also no DLC would suck...OASIS = GREATEST!
Now all the Wii needs is Burnout, DMC, Fallout, GTA IV, RE5, Soul Calibur 4, Oblivion, CoD4, Endwar, Rainbow 6, Ghost Recon, Orange Box, Tomb Raider, Silent Hill V, Merccenaries 2, Prototype, Assassin's Creed, DIRT, Virtua Fight.... AHHHHH you get the point lolSpideR_CentS
Nice way to be a fanboy by not talking about the topic at hand.
