In games like RDR and GTA IV I feel like they are not too difficult yet not too hard and they are very creative and they aren't just generic *finish story on hard mode* etc...

Games like CoD need to spruce up their achievement points

Gears of War has allways had good achievement lists also.

What is your favourite achievement lists ?

Ha, indeed. There's a particularly brutal (and funny) achievement in RDR.

Also when I achieve an achievement in RDR it actually feels like an achievement as opposed to games like Halo Reach or Borderlands where they just give them to you for playing the game through.

LOL wasn't there a racing game that gave you an achievement/trophy just for having bought the game and you earned it once the game was booted? Anyways, on topic: I think Blizzard has the best Achievements. They have the easy ones like gaining so-and-so level, getting this many pets/mount, then there are the really challenging one that are during boss fights and you have to go out of your way in order to achieve.

Yeah. There's an achievement in PGR4 for beating a Bizarre Creations team member. What the hell?

They may be creative, but some are tedious & sometimes only worth like 5 points. I can't be bothered going for them, & unfortunately achievements really affect my enjoyment of a game. As much as I'm addicted to collecting them now, I wish they were never introduced. Despite being one of the minor detrimental changes to WoW over the years, achievements were also one of the reasons I stopped playing. I couldn't start a new character & enjoy myself because of how many achievements I'd earned on my main character.

For the most part, I like achievements that are pretty simple in design. There are exceptions though; I loved the Halo 3 multiplayer achievements for an example, & there are plenty of achievements that seem tedious in the Assassins Creed games (collecting flags, etc), but I enjoy them. I think I may have OCD or something when it comes to certain things like that.

But yeah, I really hated many of the more obscure achievements in RDR & GTA4.

I don't play mp,so I just get annoyed when 70% of the game is multiplayer achievements.
Yay for COD not doing this.

Actually that was Capcom with the original Dead Rising. Amazingly, no game has come close to matching its achievements yet. Not even its successors.
