The reality of their business is clear, they are clearing the way for a sale (this is a well know rumor in the business industry) by lowing cost (keep in mind that company isn't profitable and the board no longer wants to deal with all of the issues going on) consolidating offices etc so that someone will want to buy them (debt and all). It is clear that this will be a multi-billion deal for ALL of take two, or it will be broken up and sold in pieces (2k sports for sale, rockstar games for sale etc). EA is looking at whatever the fallout will be (they are also looking into buying ubisoft so the idea of getting take two as well would be an EXTREME cost). MS will be looking at taking take two as a whole (possibly sale off parts they don't want once they buy it) and if they did you will not ever see a game from rockstar on the ps3 ever again (after the sale).

Word is also going around that the $50 million MS paid for "exclusive" content for GTA was a good will payment saying they will have more than enough to buy you out (including all of their debt).

Keep your eyes out as you will begin to see the for sale sign out throughout the send of of 2008. (As a side note, if MS should buy take two, the deal would take at least 1 year to complete as most major deal generally take that amount of time to finalize).
