Wow, AO rating. Yea this game will sell like crap no matter how good it was supposed to be. DA_B0MB
I think you underestimate the ignorance of people when it comes to video-games. However, I think that store clerks would be obligated to point out to people that it's rated Adults Only.
P.S. It's just occured to me that I've been able to legally play M rated games since May 19th
Rockstar Games didn't go too far, it's the simple fact that the people at the rating boards around the world are people who can't handle violence like most people in the real world.
For example I watched The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974 classic) when I was about 8 years old because I was mature enough to know that everything that was going on in the movie was fake... at the end of the day Manhunt 2 is only a game.
Yea, i don't think it has officially been announced AO in the US, someone correct me if i'm wrong thoughWINDWAKER1
I don't understand, one day the wii is too kiddy, the next day it went to far. One day the wii is just a fad, the next day it is going to kill hardcore gaming as we know it.
I've said it before, but we've never actually seen the Wii control scheme in action yet at all. Is shanking a dude with an icepick really that much worse than, say smashing a dude's head through a window in Godfather?
Content-Wise, I really don't see how it could possibly be worse than the original Manhunt. That game was twisted. Fun though, one of the better stealth games of it's time.
Either way, this game will be huge in North America, especially on Wii. AO or not, it'll sell. Even if it's only available on RockStar's online shop.
And a plus for Rockstar is that GTA 4 will look like church after Manhunt 2 arrives :P

You'd be amazed at the amount of stupid people out there. The fact that we even found this website means that we have a mental head start over a startling number of people. I, personally, know people who have been raised with very few morals and values. This rating (like most things in life) is to protect the idiots, not the average citizen. (Though I'm beginning to suspect that the two are one and the same)
so manhunt 2 is ban only on the wii or also on ps2 and psp???joeychew
They can't ban games, well europe can, but the US can't.

Maybe, or maybe they will be better. No publicity is bad publicity, just one more reason for those sick people to buy it.

"- Manhunt 2 on Wii and PlayStation 2 has been banned after the British Board of Film Classification refused to give the game a rating due to its "unremitting bleakness and callousness of tone... which constantly encourages visceral killing with exceptionally little alleviation or distancing"."

Sample of Ngamer review for manhunt 2 wii
"A lot of people are going to be offended by it, for its copious violence and occasional sex scene, and somebody, somewhere is going to get a shock when they walk in on a friend laterally bisecting a hunter's head with realistic sawing motions. Manhunt 2 is what Wii's parental controls are for. The sticker on the box says it's for over 18s only and, believe us, it's not wrong. We've deliberately avoided talking about the game's more grisly excesses because these things are best discovered for yourself. You'll wince, you'll jump, you may even laugh at times, but we can guarantee you'll never forget it."

Free publicity. This game is going to be big.Bread_or_Decide

Seriously though, he tried in the US and got slapped by Rockstar.

true but rockstar themselves are still putting their own warning sticker probably to double up so parents have no recourse. if the ESRB warning doesnt get their attention maybe rockstars 19+ sticker will.
Irony is not even the GTA series has released with Sex scenes etc intact. Rockstar wants pure controversy with the Wii version.
And paid the price. Banned in the UK and rated AO in the U.S., things are not going to look good for Manhunt's sales. Nobody is going to let their kids play an AO game, and the without the UK, its nearly impossible for it to make enough sales to turn a profit. Rockstar made the game too violent, and too immersive, and now a game that might've been a relative success has turned into a disaster.
it'll be a good game IMO, but it went too far, and it's sales will suffer hamstergeddon
kewl.
sounds like just the kind of game that sheep need.

More likely he's going to have an anurism. He's legally prevented from saying anything about Manhunt 2 or GTA IV.
Really? That's the best news I've heard in years.[QUOTE="hamstergeddon"]And paid the price. Banned in the UK and rated AO in the U.S., things are not going to look good for Manhunt's sales. the bold part. I really dont think thats the reason. Reggie came to them asking to Put some m rating games on wii. So if it stays m it will sell. but if it gets to ao. than it be hard to sell. and rockstar knows that.
as gamestop, target, walmart, bestbuy, circut city, toy r us. go by the ersb ratings
in else online might be a diffrent story ;)
i dont know since i only seen tailors and all that. to me so far is :rating "m" till ersb say something.
i mean the first gta sandress game for ps2 got called back after how manny years :? and put the ao on it.
Well the Wii controls are supposed to be more immersive. I don't really want kids laughing while they saw someone's arms off with remote motions. That's a little creepy. That's the difference between Hostel and Manhunt. In Hostel, you watch horrific things, but inManhunt, you DO them to some extent. With the Wii version, it's noticeably wrosebecause of the gensture-based remote.
On the other hand, this game'll probably sell moderately well of notoriety alone.
I'll thin you find it was Nintendo who are letting Rockstar release the game on the Wii. Rockstar just develop the game, it's up to Nintendo if the game gets released on the Wii. So Nintendo are the "morons," but I doubt any sheep'll admit that now will they?
rockstar is a bunch of morons for putting this on the wiisarkis20

Wrong. The reason for the whole kneejerk A.O thing is because people ocne said "nobody will let their kids play an R game". They were wrong...people did...nobody cares because it's a game and therefore FAKE...so the kneejerkers went even crazier.
