Just wondering Who gets the Credit for making such an amazing Batman game, are Rocksteady a Internal studio of Eidos or seperate and just got Eidos to publish the game, Eidos Use to be great devs? But then they made kane & lynch and so on and were thought to be Average devs this gen, But if Eidos actually made batman there it's safe to say there back up there with the best.

Rocksteady gets full credit.
They're an independent developer.

rocksteady get the praise, but eidos are doing a good job with marketing, so you can thank eidos partially for the sales, but rocksteady for the great game.

Rocksteady should get credit for making Eidos' last game an exceptional one.

Oh. I just assumed that it would be the last published under that brand seeing as how they are now Square Enix Europe.

We'll probably be seeing more from WB Interactive in the future. They definitely want to do more with WB-based games. And I'm sure they'll want to strengthen their ties to DC Comics after Disney's move to buy Marvel last week.

But they publish and market them. Marketing can make or break a game just as easily as developing.

Um....yeah they do. They wholly own IO interactive who are responsible for the Hitman games, Freedom Fighters etc. Then theres Crytsal Dynamics who have been making the recent Tomb Raider games. And Eidos montreal who are working on Deus Ex 3 and Thief IV. How do they NOT make games? :?

As I understand it, there has been no final determination for any new name (if any) for Eidos. Until this has been finalized, it will remain Eidos.

considering batman aa is only the 2nd game they developed, at least from what i saw on wikipedia, rocksteady did a superb job. i sense a bright future for them. no surprise if square enix wants to purchase them as well, though i hope not.

I knew this game would put their name on the map. I'd try to find my old posts predicting the future, but I don't want to.

Not for long. Eidos will surely gobble them up. I hope they won't, but you know they will.

There is fade-in. But it was only ever noticeable when I rushed through areas in search for clues after having finished the game. I'd also get brief loadings between areas. So it's not perfect, if you run through areas, not allowing the game to cache stuff.

SquareEnix is keeping Eidos brand.

Eidos will continue publishing, and the biggest EIDOS game in development is TOMB RAIDER, where they "re-imagining the series"

They scrapping all Cristal Dynamics previous work/story and making a Tomb Raider from scratch on the new Eidos conpany guideline, make fewer but better games.

According to Eidosannual reports they "own 25.1% of Rocksteady Studios (London)." And they have done so since 2005 i believe. So Rocksteady are very close to Eidos and they wouldnt be doing a Batman game if Warner Bros didnt buy 20% of Eidos a few years ago. So i think the responsibility for the success can be split into three portions between those three companies;

Rocksteady: 74,9% , Eidos 20,08% ,Warner Bros: 5,02%

SquareEnix is keeping Eidos brand.

ropumar

Only in development of some titles. It is no longer a publishing brand.

As a result of the move, Square Enix will be retiring the Eidos publishing label GameSpot

Then Rockstar Games doesn't make games, either--only publish them. After all, it wasn't Rockstar's home office that made most of the GTA series. That was actually Rockstar North, a subsidiary firm (just as IO is a subsidiary of Eidos).
