Rollcall: Lemmings Buying a PS3 in 2008 ?

I really want to check out FF13 and a few other games,so I will be purchasing one (providing it makes it our way in 2008 ).

Anyone else ?

It's $1000.00 here (about $880.00 USD), which is why I will be waiting for late 2008. No way im paying that now so it can just sit there collecting dust for the next 10 months!

$400 gets you 40GB with spiderman 3, and if you send in u get 5 more free blu-ray movies....

Maybe if White Knight Story turns out to be good, and they don't screw up FFXIII for me like they did FFXII. I couldn't care less about MGS4, but Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, R&C, Resistance, and Killzone 2 will all add to the temptation next year. That is, of course, if I have time and money once I'm done buying 360 games.

Edit: I should mention that I do not consider myself a lemming because I do want a PS3 and do plan on buying one. I just need more games to justify the purchase. I do prefer the 360 though thus far.

Hehe, same here. I am a Lemming by accident - went out to buy a Wii and got home with a 360 and 10 games :D Good system though, reminds me of the Dreamcast. When I buy a PS3 it will be my first PlayStation EVAH!

I have never bought more new games for a console in my life. Granted, that may be because now I have more money to do so, but I've never felt the same desire to do so either.

And when you get your PS3, you should definitely put the BC to use!

i am not sure about this but isnt the 40GB only has 2 usb ports not like the 80GB version which uses 4 usb ?

really depends on how good the games are in 2008. Pretty interested in little big planet, mgs4 and god of war 3. kilzone 2...meh and im not a big ff fan. The ps3 is pretty expensive here in aus

I already own Xbox 360 and Wii, I won't get a PS3 until probably 2011 when its really cheap and alot of the games are $20-$25, maybe even cheaper.

I don't plan on jumping into the next-gen right away, i'm going to wait atleast a year or two into it like I did with this gen. So with that year or 2, i'll purchase a PS3 at probably $200.

Depends on the 360 line up. The sony exclusives barely interest me...

Just sold mine about 2 weeks ago. I figure with the PS3 I'll be a 'late to the party' gamer with all the games and pick one up when it gets down to $200-250 in a couple years. With 360 and Wii I already can't keep up and for the most part I would rather have been able to watch BR titles than HD-DVD, but it was a small sacrifice I can again, be late too and not care much instead of being to to 'wait', I just figured I'd make the most money I can back now and then look into it a couple years down. Sony probably will hate people like me, cause I'll be a 'used' gamer and BR renter.

Wish there were an extra 8 hours in the day or something, though, cause it was a decent system. Just don't have the time for the trifecta.
