What's the better system for RPG games X-BOX 360 or PS3?

if you want western RPGS (Mass Effect or Fable series) then go for the Xbox 360. If you like JRPGs (Demon Soul's and the better version of Final Fantasy 13) then go for a PS3....What's the better system for RPG games X-BOX 360 or PS3?

XBox 360 for now. Lost Oddysey, Infinite Undiscover, Enchant Arms, Blue Dragon, FF XIII, Tales of Vesperia, Mass Effect 1 & 2, Fable 2 & 3, The Last Remnant, Fate of Resonance and at least 6-8 other titles. There are over 20+ RPGS for the 360 easily. The PS3 probably has about 10-12.What's the better system for RPG games X-BOX 360 or PS3?

PS3 has more newer RPGS people tell you that 360 has more those are mostly older titles
To be honest, you can go either/or with that one. To me, all the best RPGs of this gen are multiplat with the exceptions of Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, and Demon's Souls, so if you'd rather play Demon's Souls than Lost Odyssey (because to be honest, Mass Effect isn't exactly a purebred RPG) go with PS3. If not, 360.
If you want bad RPGs(JRPGS), get a PS3.

This is silly. JRPGs are "bad"? Every genre has its share of good and bad games. Also, 360 probably has more JRPGs anyway (not going to bother to look this up, but I know there aren't many I'm interested in that are ps3 exclusive).

Yah, I'm pretty certain the 360 has more JRPGs, and WRPGs
Both have their high points and low points so it really depends on what gaming library fit your taste more. Though you really can't go wrong with either one this generation.
Yeah, its pretty much WRPG's for the 360 like Fable and Mass Effect (also on PC), or JRPG's like Valkyrie Chronicles and Demon's Souls on PS3.
Demon's Souls is much more similar to WRPG's though, and it did win GotY 2009. PS3 also for some reason has the better versions of RPG's in games like FFXIII and Dragon Age, a bit of a rarity though its not a significant difference and really only if you just absolutely have to have that brown rock over there have slightly mroe shades of brown and texture.
[QUOTE="spookykid143"]That's a tricky and dangerous assumption that brings up the whole question of "what constitutes an RPG". Maybe, but i wouldn't call borderlands a rpg either.Ps3, imo Mass effect and fable aren't really rpgs.

Well then, please enlighten us on what current games are RPGs.
Totally the PS3 if you like RPG's and mostly JRPG's, PS3 is the home of JRPG's

That is if you don't include the PC, DS, or PSP
Going by Metacritic, in terms of actual reviewed RPGs for all systems the 360 actually comes out on top of the PS3 with 20 reviewed JRPGs to the PS3's 14 reviewed JRPGs. Does not include upcoming, or games that never released.
So the PS3 is also not the home of the JRPG over the 360.
Even the Wii has more with 18 reviewed JRPGs.
Now when I say reviewed, considering Metacritic is comprised mostly of western review sites from Europe and NA, that would mean games that have released in either of these regions.
That is a surprising number of RPGs on the Wii, I wouldn't have guessed that. Numbers don't count much for me as much as quality, but even quality is subjective. I've been stuck with a PS2 ever since it's been released and have yet to play much XBOX 360 or PS3, looking to get with this generation haha.. The PS2 and other older systems though, age very well as long as it's a good game.

I'm not a JRPG fanatic myself, but I have played many games from the genre that have been met with poor reviews that I actually enjoyed. Mainly because I didn't care for a split second what any review said, so I didn't leave myself open for disappointment.
Basically if it looks interesting then just go for it. I can't count how many times I've heard this before "I read some great reviews of this game, and I absolutely hated it".........because they bought into this idea that if a professional reviewer liked it then that must mean they should too.

WOW looks like Facts > Fanboy again, Maybe he meant home to the least amount of JRPGS LOL.
[QUOTE="designer-"]360 has brought me Mass Effect. Every other console RPG is secondary this generation in my opinion treedoor
Someday I wish people would be on my side when I said I never really liked a Bioware RPG :P
I don't like being on the losing team
hahah sorry man. As far as I am concerned bioware has resulted in some of the best games this generation and generations prior...[QUOTE="treedoor"][QUOTE="designer-"]360 has brought me Mass Effect. Every other console RPG is secondary this generation in my opinion designer-

hahah sorry man. As far as I am concerned bioware has resulted in some of the best games this generation and generations prior...Well, I liked Kotor the most so far, but even then I played for about two hours, logged off my computer for the night, and never came back to it.
Could just be a phase though. I know I have played many more short games in the passed few years than RPGs or RTS games, and the like, but I never really got into Kotor when it came out either.
And if you want to talk about metacritic the PS3 and the 360 have 3 and 4 exclusive RPGs above the 80 mark and that's Demon's Souls, Valkyria Chronicles and Yakuza 3 for the PS3 and Mass Effect 2 Mass Effect, Fable and Fable 2 for 360. DarkStraberry
I don't believe the Yakuza games are RPGs
The not on PS3 JRPG's / SRPG's on the 360 suck except for Tales Of Vesperia (Also on the PS3 in Japan) & Lost Odyssey. The 360 has the best WRPG selection between the two with Fable & Mass Effect in addition to the multiplat Oblivion and Fallout 3. The PS3 wins the JRPG / SRPG with Demon's Souls, Disgaea 3, Folkore & Valkryia Chronicles in addition to having all the JRPG multiplats like FF XIII, Resonance Of Fate etc... Atelier Rorona and Ar Tonelico 3 on the way.

Kotor 1 and 2 are some of my favorite games of all time. They are kinda slow at the beginning, so I can understand why you didn't come back to it.
Haven't played Mass Effect though... I really need to get those games
