RROD today. i hate ms at the moment

my xbox 360 took a crap today while playing fusion frenzy. i played it to death during summer and it was fine, now thats winter its coming it died.

btw how long does it take for ms to repair this and return it to me?

well it took a week for MS to send my a brand new one...but i didnt have RROD problem si idk, it will take long if they repair i thinkmingo123

well looked brand new, had a seal on disc drive as well.....didnt show any signs of refurbishment or used...so i think it was new, i hope my console gets RROD'ed now, so i can get another new one lol this one is getting too dusty :P and im going Pakistan anyways so i wont be gaming for a while....:D

Why were you playing Fuzion Frenzy? Obviously it was a mistake.

It wasn't new. Some people take good care of their consoles and son't stab them with screwdrivers, thus they look brand new.

I'm pretty sure MS doesn't repair your box and send it back to you, rather once they recieve your box they send you another one that has already been fixed(refurb).

The time varies as you could imagine. It took mine about 3 weeks or so last march/april while my brothers took less then two weeks a month ago(we both live in the same city too). I've even heard horror stories of people going many months without theirs, but that's an oddity and when that did hapen MS reinbursed said person with some free games and what not!

SO.. in short, expect between 2 and 4 weeks from when you ship yours.

IN the meantime, this sounds like the perfect oppurtunity to pick yourself up a Wii and enjoy some Mario Galaxy, believe me it'll keep you from missing your xbox!

Look on the bright side, at least you have that 3 year warranty game you can play with. I hear it's very popular among 360 owners.Zhengi

3 yrs is great but i would rather have 1 yr warranty but a reliable 360

am not a techy type of guy but my friend had rrod a few weeks ago (i was laughing at him, i guess karma). he opened his xbox and bought a fan and cut a hole on his xbox and put the fan at the hole to cool the videocard. it took him 4days to do it but it work. he fixed his xbox. should i let him to dat to my xbox or just send it to ms?

im pretty sure it was......i mean there wasnt any sign that it has been used...the cover was 100% clean, the disc drive was sealed (without peeling off the seal the tray wont open).....i would say it was refurbished if it even had a tiny sign but theres nothing and the disc tray was sealed, also the new 360 was manufactured in 2006 while my old one was manufactured in 2005 + new 360 also reads disc faster then my previous one

The whole process took me 13 days. Not that bad

do what i did, i brought a new 1 then put the old 1 in its box and took it back to the store for a refund. doobie1975

dont they have serial numbers that matches the xbox system and the box or some type of identification
