while reading a thread in system wars i realized why Nintendo is calling the Wii "new gen" instead of "next gen".What Wii is doing is to differentiate itself from PS3 and X360 and divide the casual and the hardcore gamers. So far, they are succesful of identifying PS3 and X360 as "for hardcores" and define itself as "for fun" which is mostly identify the casuals.
it is because the Wii is so different from PS3 and 360 (and every console before it too) that you simply cannot compare them. they are made for different things. all the fanboys are like blaming a lawer because he cant perform heart surgery as well as a surgeon. thats not his job. the Wii isnt here to blow us away with stunning visuals or to be able to run 1000 enemies on screen. its to show us that gaming shouldnt be confined to sitting on your couch with a controller in hand. it encourages new ideas that change the way games are played kinda mixing it up a bit.
im sure Nintendo will come back next gen and hand all us our asses with amazing graphics, power, and control. but the Wii is about breaking the walls of gaming and showing that different things work for gaming. alot of things have done this in the past (DDR, Guitar Hero, Duck Hunt, R.O.B., DS etc.) so if you are going to bash the Wii it isnt fair or correct to compare it to PS3 or 360 because it isnt doing the same thing as them.

If there should be law on Wii then there should be law on the pathetic MS payed media bashing on the PS3.X_CAPCOM_XTrue, but also there should be a law against Sony PR lying consistently.
If there should be law on Wii then there should be law on the pathetic MS payed media bashing on the PS3.X_CAPCOM_Xim just talking about a SW rule. not a real law. im not THAT big a Nitnendo fan. but im pretty sure Sony owns more media sources than MS. but bottomless pockets are a good asset in a war of words.hmmmmmmmm

while reading a thread in system wars i realized why Nintendo is calling the Wii "new gen" instead of "next gen".Nintendo is comlpacent and seems to be getting away with it. It's unfortunate that sheep rewarded Nintendo by purchasing Zelda TP. That game should have been released one year earlier on the GC.
