Rumor : 360 holiday bundles

October 9: The Xbox 360 Pro package will come with Forza 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance as pack-ins. The games will be in one case, similar to the Sega GT 2002/Jet Grind Radio Future combo disc that was packed-in with the original Xbox for a time, but in this case each game will come on its own DVD.

October 23: The Elite will get the same package. No price drops on either system, you just get two free games with it.

New Xbox Core Sku "at the end of October" that will include a new version of the system with an HDMI port, wireless controller, 256MB memory card, and five arcade games on a physical disc. The games will be Boom-Boom Rocket, Pac-man, Uno, Feeding Frenzy, and Luxor 2. This package is expected to retail for the normal Core price of $279.99.

It's possible.

They'd probably attract more attention with a 360 + Forza 2 + Halo 3 (instead of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance), but I can understand why they wouldn't package Halo 3 with the 360.

They don't package M rated games in systems anymore. They can but it just seems more like an unwritten law now is all.

Anyways, Great choice on Forza. Get as many copies of that as you can into Homes. Sony's biggest gun is GT. Marvel Alliance on the other hand...

Oh yeah, I know. But Mass Effect is pretty much the only game I want on 360, and the 256 would be more than enough for a little while.

I'd probably upgrade to a 20GB when the DLC for the game is released. Or sometime thereafter.

If all of this is true, then those are pretty weak bundles--good for the less knowledgeable and(or) holiday consumers I suppose. I much rather they bundle the "Halo" edition "Xbox 360" with "Halo 3" and leave it at that--atleast until the holiday season is over. I'd gladly buy an Xbox 360 at that point.

I tried thinking of a another "sensible" combo of two games to bundle and couldn't really.

I find Forza 2 to be a splendid choice. That game seemed to kind of drop off the radar after the initial two weeks. Personally, I would have fancied Viva Pinata being thrown in... as that is another game that kind of fell off the map and is worthy of more attention. But, yeah, I've most certainly come to notice that game isn't for everyone.

I suppose the Marvel game makes sense.

Cause that would be stupid, every second person who buys the console is going to go buy Halo, why give it to them for free..

Yes you can add it later.. and as far as 20 gigs being enough.. If you are not downloading HD movies.. 20 gigs is plenty.. seriously I have demos and tons of game saves on mine from over 14 games.. and I still have 10 gigs left!
