Rumor: BIOSHOCK SERIES WILL NEVER COME TO PS3.

Well everyone knows 2kgames was making a ps3 version for bioshock but then it got M$ bought the TIMED exclusive rights, Well It may seepms microsoft bought the entire exclusive rights to biochocks entire series.

thats all dev gossip, it was being created for ps3 but cuz of teh timed exclusive itwasn't on ps3, but now the series will never be on ps3.

PS3 low ram debacle makes it unlikelyit could run Bioshock anyway so its a moot point. But yes, Mr. Levine said that Microsoft had secured publishing rights for the 360.

Microsoft does indeed have a very different strategy in that regard, but it made sense for what they were trying to accomplish. As new comers to the game back in 2001, the only way which the Xbox could have gotten a foot in the door was through the purchasing of key developers with IP that would target the demograph Microsoft was after.

Sony, on the other hand, had nothing to lose. With the PS2 numbers, developers could easily publish on that console alone and still have a massive installed user base to sell product to. Now, of course, that situation has greatly changed, and even the whole idea of exclusivity outside of 1st and direct 2nd party titles is falling out of favour. Why, as a 3rd party developer, target only a third of the market place when you could easily get it all?
