Ya im pretty sure thats it. I really hope they don't pick that new setting. It looks terrible for Beyond Good & Evil.
If that's BG&E2 I don't know what the hell is going on. What's with all the MGS-ish Assassin's Creedy? Not sure if like...
the free-climbing/running/jumping reminded me a lot of assassins creed.

It's Ubi. It's like AC and PoP. Get ready to do the same thing over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over... well, you get the point I'm trying to make. :P

Yeah, I feel the same. The whole setting and the platforming wasn't what I was expecting at all. If it is BG&E2 then I don't like the direction it's going. Still, we shall see.

oohh noooo please not that :(Kind of looks like Mirror's Edge in third person. The action itself, not the environment. Still, if they can pull this off with gameplay even remotely similar to this they will have a winner on their hands. In fact, it would be safe to say that BG&E 2 would be nowhere near as under appreciated as it's predecessor was. It would instead do it justice.
no way in hell thats in-game, pre-rendered for sure. Still I'm really looking forward to it, loved the first.
To me it looked like 3rd person mod for Mirror's Edge.Looks like Mirrors Edge 2: India

I also don't really like the direction because the first Beyond Good and Evil game was similar to Zelda. This looks like every other non Tom Clancy Ubisoft game.
If it's like the first Beyond Good and Evil I will buy it if it is like Assassin's Creed and Prince of Persia I'm staying far away from it.
definitely not gameplay footage. Reminds me of mirror's edge mixed with assassin's creed. ReaperV7how is this not gameplay footage ?

Don't be surprised if they changed direction completely. BGAE sold like utter crap so obviously they will change the formula and direction. I honestly cannot believe a sequel is being made after how dismally BGAE sold.
Whatever it is it looks awesome, but that's not Beyond Good and Evil 2, the whole setting is all wrong. The style dosn't make much sense considering the colourful sci-fi world of the original. This might have something to do with a game built on the same engine used for Prince of Persia, perhaps mimicking the style of Mirrors Edge? I wouldn't be suprised if this was a new IP altogether.

Well, the animation is absolutely ridiculous and the draw distance at the end with the helicopter is ridiculous. Also the way the camera moves is just impossible for pure gameplay. My guess? Scripted chasewhere the player controls to some extent. On rails like but with the ability to move the main character. Not straight gameplay though, that would be insane if it was.
I am very skeptical that this is what the next Beyond Good and Evil will be like. Beyond Good and Evil was among the greatest games to be released last gen by a large margin, I hope the best for the sequel.
BTW for those who worry that this series will become like POP, it won't. The last thing Michel Ancel is is a sell out. Why else would he strive to make a sequel to a game that sold terribly?
It's not his call. Take a gander at King Kong and Raving Rabbids. He'll work within the constraints given to him. And like the other guy said, a change in direction makes sense. In fact I recall Ubisoft people making vaguely similar comments, saying it'd be more oriented towards a casual audience or some such.I am very skeptical that this is what the next Beyond Good and Evil will be like. Oh well, Christophe Heral has been confirmed, so there's that. As well as the fact that this is just a short video, of some sort. We don't know if it's in-engine, gameplay, target footage, proof of concept or what. The rest of the game could be completely different for all we know, I hope.
People have brought up the brilliant rooftop chase scene from BG&E. It's possible this is an evolved version of that. And as we all know you weren't running around on rooftops for the entirety of BG&E. But still, slightly concerned am I.
