What would that say about 360 if it becomes within 20 dollars of PS2s recent price?

not after 2010, also have you seen the software sales? PS3 is losing pretty bad on that level as well.

Dodge all the things I listed all you want. Its still dumb to pay that much instead of just buying a system thats already to go. BUT hey what do I know? Ive only had a 360 since day ONE launch..Enjoy yourself..

360 has also been out longer and is cheaper to make...MS has been getting at least $70 per console for a long time now...why keep prices high and sell less when your main revenue comes from games? Then November will be the 360's 5th birthday. The console came out at $399...it's 4 years 4 months later and the premium console is still more than half its original prices (albeit, with a larger hard drive). While the PS3 has cut it's price in half (Lacking BC and smaller) and is younger then the Xbox 360. The higher end 360 should have been $199 a long time ago.

Um... It's not desperation, it would have been desperate had they done it at the same time as Sony; however they clearly didn't need to and are now doing it because it's financially a good idea, rather than to counter their competitor which they don't need to.

Which shouldn't matter if it has USB support for larger HDDs? I don't think you can use a USB drive for a lot of things on 360 though right? I got an Arcade new for $100, but got rid of it once I realized I was taking a chance buying a drive off of ebay. Since MS was banning people for using non MS accessories. And there was no way I would pay MS ridiculous prices for any of their proprietary add-ons. Personally MS should just ditch the Arcade sku already. It's a horrible value and harddrives are so cheap these days. $199 for an Elite and I'd be into that.
