point taken. GoW III for what it is, it can be seen as complex. Because really, there are quite a few weapons, and even though the combos are essentially the same, they work differently per weapon. Convenient/smooth weapon switching is something god of war needed from the first installment on, but I'm glad they at least perfected it in III.
I just imagine nero vs dante battles. i.e. Nero is chain jump cancelling dante, whos in royal guard trying to block, then he counters and switches to swordmaster and tries to return jump cancel nero, who deflects dante's attack off his devil arm. AND THEN NERO flies into the air and pulls dante up for some sick combos!
sure nero can be seen as more limited in combat in comparison to dante, but then again, you gotto take into consideration that dante is more ground based than nero. Nero has some pretty crazy aerial attacks, and he can counter attacks with his devil's arm without needing to switch styles. Even though nero seems more limited to dante, playing as nero is still about as complex. It's just a completely different feel.
I dunno man. IMO there's just more variety within DMC, but the idea could be executed with nearly any hack-n-slash and regardless which one (bayonetta, gow, dmc, ng) there's still a lot of strategy involved.
for example just look at demon's souls. It's not exactly a hack-n-slash, but it has a pretty limited combat system which is actually pretty strategic. There's not a whole lot of attack variety (sidestep attack, normal attack, strong attack, backstep attack, magic, miracles) but strategy plays a major role in PvP and in the overall game.
[QUOTE="Hahadouken"][QUOTE="Fireboy78"]I agreed many your points, but how it's work if there have 1v1 for GOW3 multiplayer? I mean there's would have mindless button mashing, you can closing your eyes anytime to see if you won or not?
DarkLink77
Do you really think you can play God of War by mindlessly button-mashing?
I should post a video of the Cerberus breeder + satyrs fight with me closing my eyes and pressing Square and post it on Youtube. I guarantee it will end in fail.
Stupid fight was the hardest bloody thing in the game....true, but all you had to do was cetus pound it. On titan mode it took me like 10+ tries but once I developed a strategy, it became real easy. You really could button mash in any difficulty below titan and be successful. you can even button mash in titan probably up until that part, excluding bosses. BUT! If you took a button masher and placed it up against a precise player, I'd put my money on the precise/organized player any day of the week.
