[QUOTE="charizard1605"][QUOTE="danish-death"] please make sense. You can do better than that.danish-death
Okay, let's put it this way. The PS Vita's current software attach rate is 1:1.7. That includes digital, by the way. So, we have a system with a MINISCULE install base- 1.2 million units sold worldwide. Any game development for this system, including a port job, is financially viable only when the game sells enough to be profitable. Given the PS Vita's tiny install base, though, it is highly conceivable that at least as of right now, a Resident Evil game on the system is not projected to sell enough to recover said costs. Hence Capcom is not bringing its games to the system right now, especially not 3DS ports (which I assume are more expensive to port than PS3 games, which, as I understand, are very easy and cheap to port).1) Those 1.2 million units sold are not as of right now. Those numbers are from the 28th of February - are you saying the PSV haven't moved a single unit in over 2 months?
2) If Capcom decided to port this new game over we wouldn't be seeing it for quite some time and your quote said "by the end of the year". Unless the PS Vita dies NOW it'll sell more (and if they decides to port it later, we'll not be seeing it before 2013?)
3) Unless Sony actually WANT to go bankrupt (or decides to ditch the PSV) we'll most likely see a lot of news for the PSV this E3 and later TGS. This *should* give the PSV a much needed boost - although that is speculation from my part, but really not unrealistic. At any rate it should be getting more support, more potential costumers and thus more buyers for Capcom.
4) Uncharted: GA have already sold 0.5+ million units and will keep on selling. Resident Evil is easily more recognized and tend to sell a lot (?) - why shouldn't a RE port be able to do the same if it'll be released in Q4 2012/Q1 2013?
5) If no publisher dare make games for the PSV then how can anyone expect it to sell? Sony cannot and should not be the only publisher for games in the first year of a new consoles lifetime - we're already seeing mulitplat games such as Mortal Kombat, Rayman and others.
I do admit though that I wasn't aware of Capcoms relationship with the PSP, but consider how popular RE games usually are I'm having a hard time seeing why they wouldn't want to cash in on it later.
Dude, I agree with everything you said. I was just trying to give you some insight as to what Capcom's decision may have been. 1) I think it has definitely sold more. I expect the number to be ~2.1 million in Sony's Annual Report 2) I agree 3) I agree 4) Maybe, Resident Evil has a poor retail history on handhelds 5) Sony is facing the same situation with the PSV that Nintendo did with the GCN and Wii- they have to prove the system is viable before third parties jump on board.
