Kinect 2.0 specs have been leaked

Additional specs of the Kinect 2.0 have been leaked on to the net from the site noshitsherlock.com as first reported by Appy Gamer

The reported new features are as follows:

• A mode for sitting or standing
• Able to track players with a height of only one meter
• Better detection of a players hand state
• Tracking of six people up from just two
• An improved field of view for a much larger play space
• Higher resolution and quality RGB stream
• Depth stream is much higher resolution which in turn enables resolve of much smaller objects, separate objects much better and able to capture depth curvature around edges much better
• Active infrared enables tracking in low or no light
• Latency has been improved by 33ms
• USB 3.0
• Frame rate up from 15fps to 30fps
• Resolution up from 640×480 to 1920×1080

It is reported that the device will go on sale for around $99 ( Most probably £99 in the UK) and be on sale at the same time as the launch of the new XBOX.

Now in this Kinect, if this rumour turns out to be accurate, I have some faith in. Better tracking should equal better motion gaming and a allows devs to really start using it well, especially with hybrid controls (Kinect+controller). Should MS make all the right moves, and I might just buy their console as well.Desmonic

There is no such thing as using Kinect well.

Kinect has been proven to work. Dance Central, the Sports games, Kinect Adventure......The device can be a good time. The problem with the old one is they tried to much with it and failed miserably.
I either want the new one to function perfectly and be sold with the system or fail badly and Microsoft move on early. As bad as the first one fails with most games, I doubt people will willingly buy it again. Even if it is improved.

I would be shocked if Kinect isn't bundled in with the next Xbox. 

Although if true, that'd be the best thing I've heard about the next Xbox yet. 

What if, and this is a big 'what' but lets say the new kinect works very well, and the next xbox gets released with soem VR crap to make the games not only 3D but then interactive with kinect. Plus add in that kewl effect from this and this video and it might be a gimmick worth getting. Who wouldn't want a kewl looking fully 3d gaming experience in Unreal Engine 4 wuality graphics?

Just saying, something big like that would be a table turner for the industry if played out properly.

Honestly don't see any real upside to this. Its just like logitech bringing out a new mouse with higher DPI and more buttons. You still use it the same way. Kinnect just does't work for most games. I am pretty convinced nothing beats a decent controller or KbM. Dance games may be better with kinnect but aside from that... I cant think of anything else.

yes this already was rumored tho, the only thing new is that the new Kinect would be available for 360 users? interesting, but doesnt pan out because than you would have a two sku verision...
