Rumors: Far cry 5 to be Old West game?

If this is true then i'll be very diassapointed I'm not a fan of old west games but at the moment it's nothing more than a rumour.

Far Cry 1 is awesome indeed ! But I see Crysis as an even better execution of Far Cry 1s gameplay.

Far Cry 2s main problems for me were fixed in Far Cry 3 and overall it removed a lot of the tedium found in that game.

far cry 1 was great until second half. second half is so bad it even overshadow the greatness of first half.

Crysis 1 was better by far.

Far Cry is so stale in terms of the gameplay now, like most Ubisoft franchises. I couldn't even finish 4 because it felt like a rehash of 3 in a different skin. Primal is the same. I'd prefer it they used the same engine to make an original Wild West FPS, maybe keeping couple of FC elements such as the stealth. Unfortunately, they're an incredibly lazy company when it comes to innovation these days.

I'd rather see a neo-Western game.

Mehh if it's just another reskinned far cry like primal I honestly could care less... loved the third and enjoyed the fourth, but hated primal and never cared to finish it...

No thanks, RDR2 is all that's needed on that front.

Could be interesting though.

A few things are keeping me from ultra RDR2 hype:

- No PC version (like seriously why does R* hate PC this much ?)
- Will it have support for PS4 Pro and Scorpio ?

Yeah, don't know why R* denies PC'ers this but GTA's are fine? Kinda weird.

Also, I don't know how that'll work but from some indications I understand, Scorpio will be able to much improve even games not built with Scorpio in mind. We'll see soon I hope. .

I think this is another GTA V situation with a PC version arriving much later, might even be years.

Still, that would be the system I'd be most interested in getting the game. Eventhough I have a PS4 Pro and Xbone.

Let's hope it's not like RDR and we never get a PC version :P

Maybe they'll show off more of RDR2 soon ? Or even have a E3 announcement from Sony or MS.

If this indeed is set in the West and going to release at the same time of Red Dead 2. It is going to get slaughtered.

This is a franchise I like, hope they don't screw it up.

Most of the clowns mentioning Primal to back up their opinions have not actually played the game. The ubisoft hate is unreal.

Ubisoft has made, what 4 good games in the last decade at most. Rayman Origins, Rayman Legends, Child of Light and South Park: Stick of Truth. I can't think of anything else in recent memory that I've played of there's that I did have to force myself though.
Even Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, a game I felt has an amazing concept, was only fun when you ignored the main game itself and just focused on been a pirate on the high seas.

the best western games are duke nukem like in duke nukem forever or time to kill or zero hour :P

I think Ubisoft should merge assassin's creed and far cry together to make a first person open world assassin game with some gun play and climbing mechanics and stealth.
