Rumour: Monolith Productions Could Be Making A Game For Nintendo NX?

I would like to see a Middle-Earth/SoM2 being made. They got to make it a bigger, better game. I'd like to see a Middle-Earth game on the NX.

Monolith Productions, the team that created the well-received Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, has recently advertised for a Quality Assurance Manager for their studio. What’s interesting is that they ask that the candidate has the following certification standards.

Knowledge of certification standards for Microsoft (TCR compliance), Sony (TRC compliance), or Nintendo (Lot Check).

The team is heavily rumoured to be making a follow-up to the incredibly successful Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor and it would be great if it appeared on Nintendo’s upcoming NX platform. No doubt we should find out for sure at E3 in June.

SOM was a good game but it also had its fair share of flaws.

A sequel could improve on those things, and they already have the engine and nemesis system so I'd say go for it.

But WB needs to expand their library besides open world games and broken PC games.

I keep getting the studio confused with Monolith Soft.

Anyway, I keep hearing good things about Shadow of Mordor. So that would be a great get for Nintendo.

Didnt Shadow of Mordor fail? I remember months after its release they had discounted it heavily trying to sell it. I hopes its something different, wouldnt want a part 2 when we never got a part 1.

It would make sense since they have been done with their last game for a while now.

@iandizion713: they sold almost a million copies the first week and that doesn't include steam sales. And The game was a sleeper hit with both gamers and critics, I think they did alright.

It's one of the most successful games of this generation.

Monolith, the guys who made Shadow of Mordor, are also targeting Nintendo for their next game- this is about the third party studio, not about the guys who make Xenoblade.

Nope. It wasn't a perfect game but it was great. GS gave it GOTY 2014. Price drops happen more quickly for PS4/X1 games. It'll take around 8 months for that to happen.

@GameboyTroy: Yeah, i meant sales wise. I remember a bunch of people enjoyed the game. But i never heard it selling good, i guess they might have made their money, im not sure how much it cost to develop on all those platforms. They released on last gen also.

That's literally the only thing that would make me consider buying an NX.

I thought X was a flop so I couldn't care less.

Who cares about the PS4?

Something brought up on last Shadow of Mordor 2 thread about this that I thought about. When it comes to games being too easy by having really easy to master mechanics, I'd rather have that then some bullshit controls and gimped player abilities and unresponsive controls like they gave us for AC Unity and Syndicate. From where they are now, just work on making enemies more capable and more challenging. The Batman games for instance evolved to have more capable enemies that couldn't be countered, or would shock you if attacked, and keeping combo chains up wasn't as easy. Monolith can do something similar. They've been making shooters for years, as far as first games go Shadow of Mordor is a good effort to break from typical norms. It's also good to know there's still a heartbeat at Monolith, I thought they were on their way out of the business for a while. And that means a lot to me as I loves most their games that came out last couple decades.

Don't really care about it, but the more games that come to NX, the better. I just hope these 3rd parties sell decently and don't put year+ old ports on it and then bitch when those don't sell. They need to put games on there that are fresh off the presses, while hype is high.

E3 needs to get here already!

Let's see, if the life of the NX is anything like the life of the Wii U, then among the NX's launch titles will be a full price $60 all DLC having GOTY edition of Shadow of Mordor, with a promise to partake in the Shadow of Mordor 2 beta... of course, why would it have a beta but that won't matter when third parties pull out before they finish.

This. Third party support is indeed a problem on Nintendo's consoles and while Nintendo is at fault, so are the third parties, the bolded part being one of the reasons why.

Monolith Soft in Japan only... Monolith Productions (US) only.. :P Only confusing because you choose to shorten the full company name to Monolith. That's why on every game produce by Monolith Soft ..its label Monolith Soft - not just Monolith. :P

And don't make the ports worse than last gen systems.
