Rumour: PSW Knows Crysis Is Coming to PlayStation 3! NOT PC PORT

"First up, we have Crysis. Now it's no secret that Crysis is coming to PS3 this year. The excitable, hard-worked coders over at Crytek have said as much in many interviews - they've even produced a new, multi-platform engine in readiness - but the real juice here is that it won't be a straight conversion of the PC game. We understand PS3 Crysis will be an almost 50% new game, with many of the original games staff taken off PC Crysis months before release to begin to work on Crysis 2 and a port to PS3 that will include aspects of the sequel - but a new structure, environments, weapons and enemies will feature on PS3. This should be one of the year's biggest console shooters."

lol sounds like Crysis Instincts to me. 50% new game, not a entire port of the PC version. New environments or in other words scaled down environments and enemies since the original wouldn't work on PS3/360. Yup sounds like Crysis Instincts to me.

they can hardly fit MGS4 on 1 Blu-Ray Disc cause of all the CGI, so you would need alot of DVD'a to play MGS on a 360.

The Cell Processor can handle Crysis much better than the 360 CPU, thats why Crysis is coming to the PS3.

The Cell's 7 processors can handle more things at one time.

Actually a Crysis port to a PS3 or a 360 would probably be more like Crysis .5

I know it's not a port but they are going to have to change the way the game can be played.

I agree, mods should make an official "MGS DOES NOT USE CGI" sticky thread -.-

I have said from the start Crysis will appear on Console. Farcry did, Crysis will.

Again what consolites need to realise is it won't be the PC version, just like console FarCry wasn't the PC version.

Lower resolutions, 720p will be the maximum. Lower res textures and definately smaller scale levels and draw distance.

This game at 1280x1024 and above at high/very high with AA and AF pushes the most advanced graphics tech on the planet to the limits. No way this will look as good on console.

Saying that, crysis still looks amazing on medium with a few high settings at 720p. A pc with specs similar to consoles can run at this so i'm convinced it will look great on PS3. IF it ever does go to PS3.

The gameplay is what makes crysis though, so long as it keeps that then PS3 gamers should be happy.

Just a quick lesson, there was never a single CGI cutscene in any of the previous MGS games. and MGS4 is only going to have one CGI scene which will be the intro. Every other scene in the game is going to be in game engine. and while the cell is good for number crunching things like the physics, a.i. etc. its the ram that will hold it back.
