Ryse Club. Which was the bigger stinker?

Do we even want to start on how much Ryse was delayed/in development Hell? It's like a generation late.

Ryse is actually not that bad. It's not great, especially compared to other games in the genre. But it keeps me entertained.

I also really like the setting.

I do want to give Driveclub a try first before writing it off. As I enjoyed Evolutions previous racing games.

Hmmm, I played a PS2 game on my PS3 already (GT5) I thought we were finally able to move on to PS3 graphics this gen.

Easily DriveClub. Ryse was a functional product right out of the box, and it did what it was supposed to, even if what it did wasn't necessarily to your liking.

Drive Club got mostly 7s and 8s, Ryse got mostly 5s and 6s. Even a PC port couldn't save it.

Those are from gameplay shots, not bullshots like we saw before. Nothing is changed, its just from DIRECT GAMEPLAY.

I'm just saying those look terrible compared to the way it looks on my TV

Crytek the king makers made another in Ryse so it's got that going for it. :P

I played Ryse, and I actually had fun with it. Simple and repetitive, but fun. And the graphics were great. I can't even play Driveclub.

As it stands, 1/4 of SW prefers a game that doesn't work to the XBone's most terribad game. That best line up ever, tho. Sure glad the 360 had a 2013 with Nothing: Nothing Evolved and Nothing of War or my personal favorite exclusive Nothingza so that the XBone could have such a strong first year you guys can brag about.

I think the writing was on the wall with Ryse leading to be a stinker, from early criticisms to QTE prompts to the obvious shitty and repetitive motion capture animations they supposedly hired a historic arms expert to perform.

Drive Club had some criticisms early I feel mostly surrounding the free to play PS+ mode and the full version. But I don't think people were expecting the paid version to be so horrible. I guess that was the bigger stinker. Still, it wouldn't be that hard to forget about it by going out and picking up Shadow of Mordor or Alien Isolation instead.

The guy who posted a load of Driveclub screens to people who don't give a f*** he will be the one on Facebook getting unfriended by everyone who has the misfortune to know him as he uses the 'send your great game shots to all your friends who won't hate you' feature.

I haven't played Driveclub though I have a PS4. I have an X1 too and played Ryse and it is f***ing TERRIBLE! It's a tech demo that looks really nice but fails in just about every way it's possible for a game to fail. If anyone who played Driveclub can vouch for the fact it is actually a game not a tech demo then that probably wins.

Everyone's forgotten about Ryse, once the next big transmedia IP and God of War killer. Between that, Lococycle, Kinect Sports Rival, Fighter Within, Halo Sports Rivals, Soda Drinker Pro and whatever the **** that voice command game they released today is, you're spoilt for choice when itcomes to shit-awful games on the Xbone.

One is a racing game which are boring and a waste of money by default and the other is a 900p tech demo without any kind of gameplay because tech demos aren't supposed to be played or enjoyed. Which one do you think is better?

I would say Driveclub due to its problems at launch. At least Ryse worked properly from day one. I'm still interested in both games though. I don't think either of them look as bad as people say.

Everyone knew Ryse was more than likely goign to just be great graphics but overall meh.

Racing games are held to a high standard thanks to Gran Turismo and Forza consistently being well developed games and Driveclub was hyped as the epitome of racing games. Ryse we all knew would have great graphics was victim of hype and identity crisis , changing from a kinect game did it no favors . Both games needed more time , Ryse was technically a good game it looked good and ran well it just lacked in the variety of enemies and attacks your character could do also the boss battles in Ryse were really boring. Ryse would have benefited from a PvP mode also. i cant say much for driveclub ,havent played it and doubt i will now . It sucks when games with so much potential fall flat on their face due to time constraints. I don't try to fanboy to much i enjoy all consoles so it sucks to me when games don't do well , unless its a game i have no interest in like The Order, it could score 10/10 or 1/10 and it wont matter i wont be buying it. An Armored Core it could score 1/10 and i'd still have to get it

people who dont check out a games score online generally have favorable views towards Ryse, Driveclub not so much. When talks of refunds start something is really messed up and possibly cant be fixed

Slightly off topic: is the fucking online fixed yet? Waiting for it to come online to get back to the game....

I'm not defended the online fiasco, so please don't think I am. But the actual racing portion of the game is damn fine. Everything is there that you want as far as racing. Content of course is limited, but I knew that prior.

It's a damn shame what is happening with the online though.... Wouldn't have even got this game if it wasn't for my nephew, and we can't even race against each other yet!

LOL Cows still living with the sting that 5Club flopped so hard. My Ps4 is still awaiting greatness but it does have an ample supply of dust on it....

Not debating it had more hype, because it did. But this thread isn't about hype
