Ryse vs God of War; which is overall the better hack & slash game?

I'm far from being a Sony fanboy and I agree... This is blasphemy!

Ryse has some qualities, graphics and art direction are good and the narrative is well constructed and delivered. But gameplay is just mediocre, unlike GoW. And regardless of how Sony is guilty of making "movie games" Ryse is infinitely more of a "movie game" than any of Sony's games outside David Cage games.

Plus don't know if any of the two can be called a h&s game.

Well we can use this information. No one in their right mind would choose Ryse over GOW. 30% of the poll is for Ryse so that means 30% of posters here are lemmings and their alts. We can now safely substract that percentage from the rest of the polls that favor the Xbox to get more accurate results.

I came into this thread expecting pics comparison but Henry forgot to include evidence it seems. I'm not gonna vote, but I'll say Ryse because it's on PC and trust me, it looks fucking amazing on the PC version. As far as anyone's concern, Ryse is no longer Xbox One exclusive because it's on Steam.

But the poll is asking which is the best game not the best graphics.

GOW kept me happy for a play through, though it's overated. It's still a way better game than Ryse though. Both look stunning, but Ryse became repetitive pretty quickly....

@mrbojangles25: The game was supposed to be a Kinect game, its foundation was broken from the start. They managed to make it OK but to make it good they would probably take way too much time, and money.

Niether, they arent hack n slash games imo. I love the genre and niether of these games qualify as hack n slash

not the new one, the first 3 were, now its some adventure, story, rpg type game with no jump button. Its as much of a hack n slash game as dark souls is.

I like Ryse for what it was but GoW is hands down much better.

MS should invest in a Ryse 2. Just because the first try was bad doesn't mean the 2nd will be. Look at knack 2.

God of War hands down. You can't even really compare them because God of War is a whole series with a great track record. Even Chains of Olympus & Ghosts of Sparta, which were PSP games, were really good. Nice try but epic thread fail lol

Never have tried God of War,so I won't judge the game. I did download Ryse,but never had the chance to give it a try yet,so can't judge that one neither. Going by the poll,God of War is more popular so far.

Trolls voting for Ryse. Ryse was a 6 or so hour game that played itself. Don't you all remember seeing QTE's give the player points for combos even though they were standing still missing every prompt? That's somehow comparable to God of War? Come on now...

Fighting the Valkyries alone is probably more enjoyable than all of Ryse.

Better comparison would've been God of War vs Dante's Inferno. That game gave God of War a run for it's money imo

@valgaav_219: dantes inferno was a great hack n slash, the first 3 god of wars were good hack n slash game. Gow on ps4 was a good game thats not a hack n slash game.

@jeezers: Haven't played GoW 4 yet so I can't really comment much on it but Dante's Inferno was one of my favorite games last gen so much so that I had to go out and read the book lol
