I have more fun playing the original SF2 then SF4. Am I the only one?

I disagree. Once you get past the fact that there is loads of blood and you can do fatalities, you are left with a pretty average fighter.

If you ignore the special moves, the fact you can side step, and the depth brought by the toggable fight styles, yes very average[QUOTE="shoryuken_"]

Besides, depth in fighting games isn't necessarily how many moves you have. If that was the case, explain how Street Fighter is the most successful and competitive fighter in existence (and also created the damn genre) while MK is considered to be a broken spam fest? (which it is.)

Could say the same for simple fighter. Wow is more popular, but doesn't mean it is more competitive or more balanced so that argument fails.[QUOTE="MadVybz"]

IDK man, that one was pretty good but imho Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 on the genesis was just pure uncensored win.

I guess I'm the same in a way since I don't like HL2 at all and most people think it's a great game.

in my opinion competitve mean pro>>>>>>>>>>>>>noob instead of pro>>noob. Lots of players play SF since it was the first fighter that is still alive? Therefore having more players and are convincing themselves that the competition isn't as good and therefore say stuff like this has more players must be better or other game is unbalanced etc. Reminds me of WOW players who say it is the best MMORPG when in comparison to GW it has no depth. Besides simple fighter 4 is so succesfull because it is geared at the casual.I have aways perferred Street Fighter to other fighters not to say I hate them its just I enjoy Street Fighters balance.

Dude, the fighting genre itself isn't even casual. As a matter of fact, I doubt that SF is even the most popular (certainly the most recognized, but Tekken sells more, I believe.)

[QUOTE="chocolate1325"]This is a interesting review on how unbalanced they are http://www.n4g.com/reviews/PS3/UReview-284310.aspx Wow. This isn't an interesting article, it's just a blog about some guy whining about how much he sucks at Street Fighter IV. Here are the things he knocked the game for... 1.Needs more characters: Damn, 22 is not enough? He was mad that THawk and Dee Jay weren't in the game but everybody hated those guys in Street FIghter II and nobody wants them in Super unless they have received major upgrades. 2. Bad Story: It's a fighting game, dude. Go play Bioshock while we enjoy our game. I don't need a valid reason to punch someone in the face. 3. Unbalanced: WHAT?! This dude said Ken and Akuma were unbalanced. Akuma has the lowest health on the game and the majority of Ken players are scrubs anyway. This game is the most balanced fighting game ever. Evo 2K9, damn near all the characters were being used and a Balrog player almost won the whole thing. Sagat is the only unbalanced character IMO but he's not broken by any means, plus other fighting games are much worse with their tiers. OP, can you give a reason why you think SF2>>>>SF4? Everything that was in SF2 is in SF4 so it's not like you have to change your gameplay style.I have aways perferred Street Fighter to other fighters not to say I hate them its just I enjoy Street Fighters balance.

SF4 is probably the most balanced fighter ever so I prefer sf4 over any other fighter out there but really I like both.
I consider SF2, 3, and 4 their own thing... I like how each plays way differently than the other and all three are amazing fighters. No need to hate one or the other.
This guy will agree with you that SF2 > the rest heh. Great series of vids by that guy. If you follow the SF scene at all it is a must watch.

What exactly is a REAL fighting game?
