haha lol but on a serious note, I seriously think Sackboy SHOULD be a mascot for Sony because it's just so adorable and appeals to all age groups. Only thing was that LBP wasn't a series, but not anymore.funsohng
I think that too :) still have way to go, but LBP2 may change things

seeing as the US stereotype is "lolgorehalogearomgtehblood1337" that pretty much would make him more just the national symbol of america, not just FPS's :P at least to other countries.
Yes, thats why MS is coming out with its own Eye Toy.
XboximusPrime
It's way more original than Move. At least it differs from Wii, at the same time aiming for the same crowd

Sony should use sackboys (and girls) :p
Really, if anything, Microsoft are the ones that copy the most out of the three. Fanboys just gonna hate.Yes, thats why MS is coming out with its own Eye Toy.

if you're talking OS industry or their other departments. MS copies a lot.
in console business, it's Sony who takes that crown:|
they're on the borderline of copying the Wiimote twice, MS just can't compete.
if you don't believe in the SIXAXIS being such, I'll gladly point out an MS gamepad that was much older, with the same idea.

Um, excuse me, the national symbol of america is obviously Metal Wolf. Because he is the president of these great United States of America. YEAAAAAHHH!Oh I see what you did there... not funny really... :( Sorry.

Sure it was, it was at least worth a giggle.
But I do love how people forget that Sony was in the Console game before Microsoft, therefore if anybody is copying it would have to be them.
Also Nintendo was in it before both, and Atari even before that. Copying good successful ideas is not a bad thing.
If Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo didn't copy any other good ideas, well that would be plain stupid. It would be like Pepsi not creating Cherry, or vanilla pepsi after seeing Coke make Cherry or vanilla coke. Sure it's not original, but it's plain stupid not to implement other successful ideas into your product.

Now before I get flamed for that it's not a bad idea at all. And also Nintendo was in before both, and Atari before that.

Which is why competition benefits all gamers. Even if the idea isn't original, the more a good idea is used, the better. You can call it what you want, but we gamers benefit when companies "steal" ideas. They want to beat their competition, so they'll work to improve on the idea someone else used. Then the original creator of the idea won't want to be beaten with their own idea, and they'll improve it too. And in the end, we benefit from this. You all realize that SONy needed to copy all the stuff 360 had if it had any chance of competing with it, dont you? If they didnt add that stuff, they would be reemed and would totally fail.
I came in here with the intent of making that point, haha. Not just with hardware, but software too. I can't stand naughtydog and insomniac because their games are just copies of other people's work. They have some cool ideas, but they are never fully thought out. But when they do come up with something unique, let's say my beloved God of War, they can't evolve on the idea and the series turns into a one trick pony.
I have a hard time with Sony this generation. They deliver new IPs, but they are not really new. Just new faces with the same game elements we've had for years.

kansasdude2009
how is LBP a one trick pony or something that has been done EXACTLY the same before?
On topic, i kind of laughed. Come on people, don't take this too seriously. It's system wars, right?

Well, the game's focus isn't on its gameplay, but on user creation. That's cool but from my time with it, the game doesn't offer anything that's really new. The sequel actually highlights my point as its selling point is that it can copy all other genres.Well, the game's focus isn't on its gameplay, but on user creation. Imagination is the only limit my friend ;), but I can understand your point. I actually had a hard time trying to think about a game sony has released this gen that hasn't been done before. Only game that came to my mind was heavy rain (we are talking about games that don't copy other games) and if you allow me a little more flexibilty, demon's souls because the "unique" feel it had to it (that "i don't know what").
P.S: "flower" just popped in my head but don't know if that was entirely published by sony.

I did play heavy rain and was impressed. I didn't like to play it though, I had a better time watching, haha. Deamon's Souls I have yet to play... I am interested. I still need to buy a PS3.... *sigh* money... :(Please Log In to post.
