Sadness not to see light of day until 2009 confirms Nibris

Developer Nibris, the brains behind the much-anticipated Sadness on Nintendo Wii (despite little being known about it) has confirmed in an e-mail to NeoGAF member GC|Simon that the title is definitely not going to be released until 2009. This comes after the firm previously hoped that it may reach stores in the final quarter of 2008.

Black and White is BAD? Surely not!!!!!!

Guess the black and white is to help cover up the hideously outdated graphics that resemble a Gamecube game from 2002.

Why do sheep keep trying to hype these schmutzy, embarrasing, just plain ugly screenshots? Why not post this in the Wii forum instead? :roll:

The vast majority of sheep know this game will never see the light of day. Plus, every screen of Sadness I've seen is only concept art... not real game footage, so we don't know what the graphics are like.

I could tolerate Gears and Resistance, but damn.

I really hate how games are so grey/dark nowadays. Quite annoying, I think. At least Uncharted, Warhawk, SMG, Zack & Wiki were colorful.

hope so. that would be great. but after the manhunt 2 problems that most likely wont be true. no store carries AO games. not gamestop, bestbuy, and definetly not walmart. so as nice a thought as it would be to finally have a horror game with no limits, itll never happen, especially not on the wii. :(

NiBris wanted it to be rated AO.

But they can't because Nintendo doesn't allow for AO rated games to be published on any of their systems.

what is the game suppose to be about? cause it looks awesome but all i can get from the pictures are demonik cowboysSuper-Penguin

This game is based in pre-World War 1 eastern Europe I believe. At the beginning you (the girl) get derailed while riding a train with your son. Everyone dies except you and your son has been blinded but now has some weird paranormal powers.

From then on you use the boy and her in different ways and the game will feature 10 different endings each with different roots in slavic legend like witches, ghosts, monsters,etc.

Sounds cool to me. I'm digging the art style too.

This is though Lair matieral, and by that I mean it looks so good that I don't want to get my hopes up as It might castastrophically flop.

Looks cool though. Months ago I posted a thread here when all I described about the game intentionally was its setting, the endings, the art style and story. People flooded the thread with posts about how this concept sounded amazing and how this game could only be truly realized on blu ray.

I didn't say which system it was on intentionally and when I told posters it was Wii they thought I was lieing.

They wouldn't develop it if they knew it would be vaporware.

It appears that what Nibris wants to do with Sadness is beyond their capabilites as a developer, and apparently they can't see that, so they're working in vain on a project they can't hope to complete, hence vaporware.

Also, I believe that they canceled RoTR to divert more resources to Sadness.
