Saints Row 2 vs GTA IV ?

What do you guys think ?

I think SR2 will beat the crap out of GTA IV.

GTA IV is the most overhyped and overrated game in the world. It was cool until I finished the missions. The online was boring and not fun.

in my mind, SR1 was more fun than GTA IV

I don't understand why you would even put up this thread? Saints Row 2 is not even out yet. How are you supposed to determine which game is better?

If you say GTA4 is the "best" game this gen, or "goty" , etc

then youve obviously havent played GTA:SA like some of us

No way it will be better than GTAIV, just my humble opinion.

To me it looks like it looks too unoriginal, and not just in a GTA way. Like the ridiculous Ninja trailer for it whatever looked soooo incredibly cheesy. I guess between that and having that adult film actress promoting the game I dont have much hope for this game surpassing GTAIV.

SA was terrible i thought. I was glad that GTA4 they added gameplay and controls that werent absolutely terrible

but still gta4 isnt the best game this gen. by any means

Not I. None of them hold up well today. GTA IV is just a much more polished and refined game. For me, it's quality > quantity, and it'll always be that way.

Only thing I thought was more refined about GTAIV was the control scheme, other than that, I liked just about every other aspect of Vice City over GTAIV.

I am an avid anti-GTA person but I do recognize quality. One can't deny the production values that GTA4 has.

OTS targeting, cover system, more realistic vehicle damage, and more realistic physics across the board, which is a big part of what makes GTA IV such an awesome experience. I could get that nostalgic bug, then go play GTA's of the last-gen, but that's all it is, a nostalgic bug, which would just ruin my memories of what those games were. When compared to a more refined and polish gaming experience, such as GTA IV, they don't hold up well.

See to me, Vice City and San Andreas still hold up. I didnt like the realistic turn that GTAIV, and I guess that's probably why our opinions differ so much.

GTA 4 was so boring and repetitive. I mean I enjoyed Assasins Creed more and it was extremely repetitive as well but at least getting from one place to another involved fun platforming. Javy03

Saints row 2 looks like a cartoon infront of GTA IV.Theres no freaking way it can beat GTA IV.

I don't get the whole the first wasn't good so the second will tank menality. The first game in the Hitman series was very Hit and miss now look at it.
