Saints Row: Is This The Most Batshit Insane Franchise?

Saints Row 4 might just be the best video game ever made. The franchise was first seen as this GTA clone, but it managed to set itself apart, like many other open world games. Its latest entry in the franchise is Saints Row 4, and has one kick-ass expansion coming out in January.

Now, for those that haven't played SR4, you won't get this thread at all. SR2 was crazy. SR3 stepped it up, and SR4 went full Saints Row. The game does not make sense in any way, and that's what makes it brilliant.

You have to be a real fucking stiff to not, at the very least, chuckle towards this game.

I love that Volition has completely given up on making this franchise seem cohesive in any way at all. It's brilliant. We need these kind of games. Gone Home and all that shit. Go home, indeed. Dubstep Gat Penetrator KEITH DAVID.

SR3 is the best I think as well. 4 was a cash in. Still, in the next Steam Sale I'll be buying it.

@freedomfreak: Maybe as a western game but some japanese games are the weirdest and craziest by far. (Which is a good think in my eyes)

I didnt even complete GTA4 or 5 for my shame. I started GTA4 like 3 times.

SR is on even lower priority for me right now but maybe someday.

No, I think Metal Gear and Bayonetta's brand of crazy is a lot higher as far as franchises. But from a western game standpoint it's Saints Row and everyone else., **** Borderlands. Besides the fact that those games are hot garbage; the comedy is atrocious, it's fucking internet humor.

And Kinzie, fun Shaundi was Eliza Dushku, Saints Row 3 Shaundi was a bitch, and newest Shaundi is just Shaundi. Kinzie is the GOAT.

To make things worse is that im replaying old games. This week I completed Z (Really old PC strategy game) and I plan to play Dungeon Keeper 1 and 2 again very soon.

Exactly Volition gets it, if it's all about slaying panties then it's about getting the boss's dick wet, or move forward. The Metal Gear parody in that game was godly.

He is most prominent in the DLCs Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage and Tiny Tina's Assault on the Dragon Keep, but you can hear a bit of him in the main game on the radios and near Marcus's gun vendors.

That was great. Volition is good at making other franchises look stupid. How can you say that game isn't genius after the whole "box" segment. Not to mention the whole shooting of lights in reference to Splinter Cell.

Z is really cool and very different from any other strategy game you might have played, you should definitly try it if you like the genre. Its on GOG.

You don't know what batshit is until you've played Deadly Premonition. By far the weirdest and strangest game I've ever played. Saints Row ain't got shit on this.

I adore the game. Leveling up my lvl 71 Psycho now and have been working on Salvador the Gunzerker just to get an achievement, but might keep playing him.

Aw yeah. It's not very captivating though. That's the problem with games that are just purely about some basic human desire/nature like "wanting to burn shit". It gets old really fast.

Still well worth what I spent on it, praise Gaben for dem 2 euro games.

Yeah katamari damacy. Its not brutal or psychological but the whole premise and the characters make it crazy.
