Has to be the Fatal Frame series in my opinion. The second is easily the scariest game ive played.

Silent Hill scares me.. but is it me or was RE4 the least scariest RE game.. not once did I get freaked out. except for the chainsaw guy.

And RE4 wasn't a survival horror, it was an action game...

I hear FF is the scariest. I have yet to play it though, and REmake was the only vaguely creepy RE. STALKER has made me jump the most, due to mods making night pitch black.

Nah, the old ones were thoughtm I'm playing RE3 right now :0 it's good and scary. But I've seen loads of gameplay of Silent Hill and man does that game look scary 0_o. But I've never really seen Fatal Frame.

Siren is the scariest franchise imo, the combination of stealth and survival horror and the use of sightjacking is was make the siren series unique and scarier than others.

Silent Hill hands down. THe series scared me so bad I could not beat 1 or 2. Im not joking. 4 on the other hand was meh scary everything was way to bright.

Agreed.

And RE4 wasn't a survival horror, it was an action game...

Personally i was freaked the hell out
like each corner was like "oh crap what in gods name is going to come around that corner"

Plus the hospital part in RE4 little intimidating

Easily Silent Hill.

I haven't played any Fatal Frame games, but I don't think i'd get scared at ghosts, they just don't really seem scary compared to some freaky ass monster that you know is in the shadows but you have to go into the shadows anyway.

Silent Hill is hands down the scariest medium ever. Aside from simulating ghosts or zombies actually attacking me in my bed at night, there is nothing scarier than the Silent Hill franchise. The second was more psychological than scary as was the fourth to be frank, but 1 and 3 focused on the religious undertones of the town and Alessa's concerns which stick me far more than a psychedelic guilt trip.
