Dead Space for me.
But, considering I haven't played Siren, I wouldn't know what it's like. I didn't like Condemned 2 all that much though.
I only played Dead Space, and i can say that it have few moments where i jumped back
Especialy once when i was in "vacuum" and creature sneaked up on me i didnt heard it because in vacuum you dont hear them, and when i turned around it was standing there it scared me
But overall its not really scary
I find that games like Sillent Hill scare me more with tension and weird noisesÂ
So i would say that homecoming is probably scariest but i didnt play it yetÂ

Dead Space is a great survival horror game, and the atmosphere and ambient gameplay definitely helps the player feel claustrophobic and paranoid. But the scare factor runs thin rapidly as the scare tactics wear off through repetitive patterns (I can read the game designer's intention WAY AHEAD OF TIME to not be suprised). For example, I was caught off guard by that one "necromorph" which acted dead, but after that encounter, I made sure to dismember every single corpse I couldn't telegrab with my Kinesis, lol.
Siren seems to be genuinely frightening, as the fiends are effectively immortal and you have little to no improvement in defense or offense. Dead Space can get pretty broken with all the weapons in the later chapters, as you rush through monsters like a machete chopping through chicken limbs.
none are very scary
the only thing scary was siren's wonky controls
but i'd say condemned was a better paced, better overall game aside from the mediocre multiplayer
it at least attempted to surprise me unlike the others
I'd say Dead Space. So what if its "scares" get repetitive? Show me a good horror game that effectively changes its scare tactics. At the very least, Dead Space tries harder than some of the other games.Skittles_McGee

What scare tactics? Dead Space was too actiony to be scary at all. I don't know how people can consider it scary.. oh well.Â

Well the part where a zombie crashed through the ceiling in front of me (not scary) kind of gave me a jump because I thought it was safe when he was dead and turned to pick up the ammo on the ground only to have another hungry zombie standing behind me about to bite my head off (scary).I consider that a scare tactic, since, you know... its trying to scare you :oÂ
Left 4 Dead. I nearly **** myself when a Tank snuck up behind me today and started pummelling me. in the subway part, yeah he nearly raped me too
I have to play Siren still though, I expect it to be "the" horror game of the year. Condemend 2 lacked all the quality atmosphere of the original, I hear Dead Space is just "jump out at you" scary and I know nothing about Homecoming.foxhound_fox
Out of that list, Dead Space would be the least scariest. I don't understand how people can get scared of that game. You see a Alien/zombie run up to you or jump out of nowhere. Yes it does startle you, but it's not a horror experience.Zerual
Exactly. Cheap scare tactics, LOL! It almost felt like EA was trying too hard.
