I've never really played a scary game. If one ever gets an awesome rating, I will.

I don't really find any games to be THAT scary...

Some games might give me the creeps for a while, but its not like I'm scared out of my wits or anything.

After playing halo 2 mulitplayer, and realising that those people who screamed every 5 seconds where actually, real people. Yea. I lost some sleep.

I would have to say Gears of Wars on the 360.

the nightmares I've had of having wasted my money on that crap still haunts me to this day.

Honestly... Halo 1 in the level where you first find the flood...

It was so perfect, you watch the fallen soldiers helmet film...

There's creepy music and your radar becomes filled with red...

Me and my friend got hardly any sleep that night

I never lost sleep, but Silent Hill series, and Fatal Frame 2 was very spooky. It has alot to do with my surround sound set up too.

I still remember the roars that the monsters would do, and those always scared the crap out of me.

I didn't lose sleep but it definitely felt scary being so underpowered.

System Shock 2 was the scariest game I had ever played. I might have lost some sleep.. if the game wasn't so damn good that I pretty much just played till I just couldn't stay awake anymore.

[QUOTE="R-Dot-Yung"]DOOM i was so little, so unprepared, so fragile it scared the crap outa me DOOM and Duke Nukem were my frist games, i dont know when they came out or when i played them but ill say i was around 4-6 im 17 now i dunno

After Doom... I really had no aversion to violence. I love desensitisation. :D

Even nowadays I still think Doom is one of the most violent games playable.

I've never had a game scare me to the point where I did not want to go to sleep. Though I have had games such as Silent Hill and Resident Evil (Lisa Trevor, scary scary scary) that made me jump into bed instead of walk up beside it because I was scared some weird hand would come out from under the bed and grab my ankle.

For some strange reason , I cannot watch a horror movie since I just find it too dumb how the characters act ( 8 vs 1 ? THAT RIGHT , Those idiots outnumber that freaking psycho , but wait minute........WHAT ? they F****** SPREAD ? WHAT A FREAKING GANG OF *******#*Q@%@#(%*(#@$%****!!11!!!!1! ) .
But I love Horror games since I have the control over the character.

I have to say , I really like the suffering serie ( the first is more scary thought ). The fatal frame serie is nice too . the RE serie is a must ( the 4 wasn't really scary but still...seing 2 granny running at you with chainsaws can make your hearth beat speed up :P ) . the silent hill serie is THE horror game serie , you want to freak out ? rent this .

just play SH2

That still wouldn't prevent me from sleeping.

When something in a video game scares me, it'll freak me out for most of the rest of the time I'm playing the game (or until I finish the level safely). Scary things in video games don't really haunt me when I'm not playing.

The game that scared me like that when i was little is called Another World.
For some weird reason i don't understand.
It wasn't the tentacles, the black beast thing, the worm-snakes,
robots or flesh eating plants in the caverns that scared me.
Not even the steam.
No it was the moss covering a rock in a background, that kept me awake and too scared to continue the game.

COndemned. That game freaked me out. Not cool, smacking someone in the head with a freaking 2 x 4 and spit their teeth out. Not cool.

Yeah...i was also around 4-6 when i played DOOM for the first time...I don't think that I was scared but its possible that I just don't remember.

Same here, I played the Doom games at a very young age and I thought it was more fun than scary back then, but Doom 3 still creeps me out with all of the little tricks they pull on you through out the game and all of the darkness. lol.

I used to play games with headphones and it seemed nearly any FPS would scare the crap out of me. There have been a lot of posts about this topic lately. The INDIANA JONES game for the Atari 2600 scared me when I was a child. I was so baffled by the concepts the game presented I couldn't sleep. Just a poor brain dead video game obsessed kid.
