From what I can see, they make console games look better (and im not just talking about the large number of bullshots floating about) and dont give you a feel for how good pc gaming actually looks....you really need to be there to see it. Even those comparison videos that are youtube comparing the 3 versions of Mafia 2 and Fallout 3...just to pick 2 games. In these videos the games look basically identical, hardly any real difference however if you compared the consoles and pc side by side, or better yet on the same tv there is literally no comparison! Also you cant tell or feel the framerate (duh) from screenshots and even videos unless its really bad which ofcourse can make a huge differenece in how much enjoyment you get from a game!

I'd say it's the opposite...screenshots usually make console games look worse than they look when you actually play the game on a TV instead of a monitor that's 12 inches from your face (unless you play console games on a monitor, of course :P)

I usually find screens make games look worse. Especially true with Nintendo games.

Actually those videos prove that PC is not a "generation ahead". As you pointed out that in the youtube comparisons you can't really tell the difference between console/PC multiplats. But If you go take a look at say the difference between the PS3 version of Black ops vs. the Wii version the difference is GLARING.

I agree with this. Unless they're bullshots, games tend to look much better in motion.

Youtube videos are not the way to compare graphics.

nd yetven with the low fielity of youtube the difference between a wii game and aps3 game is obvious.

And yet playing Black Ops on PC at 1080p or even 1600p compared to PS3's under 720p, it's more than a generation difference :)

you both are trying too hard. The ps3 version of black ops is abysmal. The 360 version is a much better comparison. Also black ops is hardly a good looking game, so whether you play it at 1600p or not it wont look that much better. "More than a generation difference" is a horrible exaggeration.

Just pointing out to the poster the difference between the Wii and PS3 versions, is the same as the PS3 and PC version. Your right Black Ops is hardly a good looking game. If you want to see generation gap between multiplats, you could just try Just Cause 2 or BulletStorm as an example.
