AWESOME!!!
I'm a huge Ratchet and Clank fan, but I feel like the series has just gotten progressively worse since this generation started. I liked Tools of Destruction, but Crack felt disjointed and poorly paced. A lot of missed potential. But something about this idea... I love it. I really really love it. Ratchet has always had great and interesting gameplay, adding a new strategy mechanic would up the mayem while keeping you in complete control of the action. Plus, the arenas have been terrible this gen, I need me some Ratchet and Clank arena action!!!
This is the fresh Ratchet and Clank experience I want to see. Can't wait!
What is with the innuendo-laden titles in the Ratchet & Clank series? The amusing one I can easily remember is Up your Arsenal.Dat innuendo.

A Crack in Time was almost "Clock Blockers". Doesn't get better than that! All the subtitles are great, well All 4 One... not really.

I was asking myself the same thing.Crack was weak. I don't know why Insomniac feel they need to justify Clank's name in the title, it's never as fun as the Ratchet gameplay. I will admit the puzzles were smart, but I always wished I was playing as Ratchet. Then there were all those ship segments. Oh lord. They were OK, but it was a pain flying between planets and all the moons in between were relatively uninteresting. They could have been so much more. There's the missed potential. Worst of all the space gameplay broke the flow between the planets. The planets also felt less inspired in Crack, and it felt like there were less of them. In addition, the story was the weakest in the entire series (except QFB and Deadlocked, but those don't count as much). Nefarious should not have been used again, when was the last time a defeated villian was used again and turned out better the second time. It was reminiscent of Jak 3 where Errol returned. Ugh.
I don't know why people look at Crack as the best Ratchet yet. The best one was either UYA or GC, maybe ToD, but definitely not Crack. I know this may seem stupid, but there was way too much variety. I don't want Clank segments populating the game left and right. I don't want ship segments. I want pure, uncut Ratchet gameplay.

Seriously? Despite the plot holes, CiT easily has the most memorable story of the series. And Nefarious made the game about 3 times better, being one of the greatest characters in existence.
I agree about the space sections though. They were beyond tedious.

But this plot was carried for 3 games, through tools, Q4B, and Crack. To bring back a villian we already defeated felt weak weak weak. I love Nefarious, but are you telling me he was better in Crack than UYA? All those segments where he broke and Lawrence had to slap him, or his agenda towards 'Squishies' which actually made the plot. To bring it back... I expect more from the franchise and Insomniac. Besides, look at Tacheon in Tools, always overcompensating for his tiny pathetic stature, feeling compelled to take his birthright the lombaxes stole from him and disrespected by raising him as one of them. He was a much better villian than Nefarious in Crack. Nefarious is my favorite Villian in the series, but that's all because of UYA, Insomniac should have come up with a new original villian and it would have been much better.
Also, I'll say the story is the weakest because I remember it so faintly. I can practically read the whole story of the first 3 games and Tools of the top of my head. Cracked, I barely remember what took you where, which is sad seeing as it should be the freshest in my mind.
"I love Nefarious, but are you telling me he was better in Crack than UYA?" (Quotes isn't working. Please fix this ASAP Glitchspot. )
I won't say that because it's been so long since I played UYA. However he was great in CiT regardless of any previous games, so I see no problem.

Eh.. I have to disagree on that one. I found Tacheon to be rather boring.

Even if he was better in UYA, his role in CiT hardly tarnished his greatness. I personally think that a new villain wouldn't have been as good.

Fair enough. I probably like the story of CiT the most because the whole time-travel thing suits my tastes very well. :P
Anyway, I should play UYA again eventually.
