Why would you release a JRPG(a new ip at that) so close to a blockbuster type title like Gear2. I mean do they not know Gears2 is coming out on the Nov 7. Why Nov 20. for the game. I thought it was going to be a December rrelease which would have been good.It should come out Dec. 5.

This game will get crushed by Fifa 2009, MGS4, Resisitence 2, Dead Space, Farcry 2, Prince of Persia, Fable 2, Gears 2, LittleBigPlanet, Madden 09, and Wii Music this holiday season.

I'm buying. Theres a good 15-20 games coming out around the time of Gears of War, they are not all sent to die. Good JRPGs are hard to come by this gen, Last Remnant will do fine.Couth_

I don't think that Gears of War 2 is going to matter in Japan. Not only that they are two completely different types of games. JRPG fans are going to want to get their fix regardless and they aren't the type that usually likes shooters. At least from my experiences here and around real life but hey you never know.Blackbond

Why should sales matter to you? It's not like your getting a cut.

JRPGs in America aren't exactly a hot commodity for 360 owners, so why they feel the need to be a timed exclusive is beyond me. I do not see this game even making the top ten for Nov. or Dec. in the US.lantus

It matters because if the game sales more than more JRPgs will come out. My benefit is that I will see either a sequal or more new ips will be made.too_much_eslim

And again, it should not have a huge impact. The target audiences for both games are miles apart. The overlap is in the hardcore gamers, and those gamers would be willing to buy more than one game should both be of a high enough quality.

That's no explanation for the PC verison though, Microsoft stepped in on this, I'm sure of it, which isn't a bad hting, but not the most opportune time if you ask me.

LO also had advertisment presence outside traditional game havens and it had the benefit of being a fairly well reviewed game as well, something that prior JRPGs on the 360 have not had.

QFT. Sales matter in determining what sequels and new IPs will be developed going forward. In this case, GeoW2 is aiming for a different market than Last Remnant and if it sells at least as well as previous X360 JRPGs, I would guess Square would be happy with that given the timing.

Last Remnant stands to be a guinea pig of sorts; it will determine the market for JRPGs on the 360 given stiff competition for the gaming dollar from another genre of game.

If this is the case, then screw gears. I would take Last Remnant over gears any day.

That M rating on Last Remnant might hinder it alittle.

Owell, hope they come up with a PS3 release window. I think there doing this on purpose just to hype the 360 version. They've got to know about when the PS3 version will be release. I mean just at E3 Star OCean was slated for Spring 09 and then it gets a firm release date a couple of months later
