Simply put; 360's are being used for more than dust collection machines. If you take all the folks playing VG; most are saying the 360 is getting all the use ( darn those great games ) !

Seams only logical that a machine getting the use is the one that just might fail - hmm - maybe if only MS had not made sure there were so many great games to be played on their machine, 360's could get a breather !

Yeah, that's what I want; a long lasting machine that never gets used - pfft , faulty hardware could be a thing of the past !

Lets all go that route; keep you're machine in the off position, all know it will last a lifetime and isnt that what we gamers are looking for; at least on SW (sarcasm) in case the boyz needed a clarification of my point ! ;)

You know, IMHO ;)

that's rich, so you are going to pay $400 for a year of gaming?  You hardcore gamers are so funny.......most people can't or won't buy a X360 every year to keep up with faulty hardware.

I don't think anyone is expecting X360 hardware to last for the rest of our lives but at least 2 years is not asking for the world.  Honestly, you can't be seroius though.  You're defense is because you play the X360 it's bound to break.......what so if don't want your X360 to break don't play it?  How about they fix the issue that is causing it to break?  Nintendo seems to never have problems with hardware and PS3 at this point has no real issues.  X360, they can't even do live software updates without red ringing hardware to death.

So? its junk, Big deal, buy the extended warrenty and you are covered for 3 years. I went through 3 PS2s in the last few years and didn't cry about it because the games were worth it. The same applies to the 360.

I may not especially like having to pay $60 for the warrenty but I paid way more for the warrenties on my tv, phone, dvd player, roomba, PC, DVR, camera and almost everything else in the house that runs on electricity.

I will certainly buy it when/if I eventually pick up a PS3 so I can't get too bent out of shape that the quality control on the 360 is a joke.

That's why I said you couldn't be serious.  I've already had people try to use the exact excuse so I'm kind of amazed to see it again.  I suppose it comes from the "things break you know" quote from their VP.

My belief is; you are not serious ! I have three 360's, one going back from launch and nobody (mostly) has the hours logged in as my son so .....?    Maybe go look at you're PS3 or stare at you're Wii ( LOL ) b/c God know there's not much to play on it ;)

One more time; sons from launch, mine from April 06, daughters from Dec. 06 - Yeah I'm the one who's not serious.....? Me LMAO @ U ;)

I barely used my 360 compared to my PC and PS3 and it still broke twice.  Explain that.

PS3 is built like a tank. One EGM editor accidentally ended up pitting the PS3 against the Xbox 360, when his kids ran them both at the same time in a closed media cabinet. The Xbox 360 got killed from too much heat, but the PS3 survived, even in it's air-deprived state while the Xbox 360 was also putting out heat. The PS3 emits more heat, but the Xbox 360 retains more, which is very bad for circuitboards.

In short, PS3 is a really tough console, and 360 is not. MS may have put together a better OS for the Xbox 360, but Sony made a much more durable machine. And really, does a better OS even matter if the system is gonna break?

Ok, so you're trying to be funny. Didn't really do it for me, but I guess that's not the point.

360's are dying in droves from regular use. It's not just a defect in a certain percentage of them, it's in all of them. Let it heat to a certain point, it dies. The only reason they haven't done a factory recall is because the PR would kill them.

And that IS funny!

Some may think my Corvette is built like a tank b/c it never breaks down but since it's 30 years old with 40k miles on it really skews the " built like a tank " logic thing.    My 1998 Tahoe is being repared now but it has over 200k miles on it !    Know what I mean? ;)

so basically you have to buy a 360 every year or you have to be inconvinienced by sending in your machine for repairs just to enjoy playing games as much as u would like to?

The 360 is poorly built. It breaks down, even if it runs good its noisy as hell. When i played oblivion on that thing i always thought it would just give out on me.

But as of now it is the machine to own if you want some real good games.

Have you tried crashing both cars into eachother and seeing which one still runs afterwards? Because that's basically what happened to the guy at IGN with his 360 and PS3, and the PS3 won. PS3 is more durable, end of story.

Overheating is always a concern of gamers with their consoles. Xbox 360 clearly DOES have a problem with overheating, and PS3 does not because it has a much more efficient cooling system.

I barely used my 360 compared to my PC and PS3 and it still broke twice.  Explain that.

You're a PS3 fanboy and you unknowingly abuse your Xbox360 when you sleepwalk?

Simply put; 360's are being used for more than dust collection machines. If you take all the folks playing VG; most are saying the 360 is getting all the use ( darn those great games ) !

Seams only logical that a machine getting the use is the one that just might fail - hmm - maybe if only MS had not made sure there were so many great games to be played on their machine, 360's could get a breather !

Yeah, that's what I want; a long lasting machine that never gets used - pfft , faulty hardware could be a thing of the past !

Lets all go that route; keep you're machine in the off position, all know it will last a lifetime and isnt that what we gamers are looking for; at least on SW (sarcasm) in case the boyz needed a clarification of my point ! ;)

So by you logic my 360 should break any day now, I better stop playing the forza 2 demo b4 I get the ring of death then.

I swear, me and my son have played extended hours at a time ( over 6 hrs a sitting ) ( Oblivion and lol PSU ) but not even a bit of overheating !

They are in a open area underneath my 70" ultravision but what the heck - I dunno - I must be that lucky - if all you are telling the truth...?    Nah can't be b/c I'm never that lucky ;)

Huh - i dunno wtf you're talking about?  A machine with moving part does wear out if used - no?  My point - if not used; moving parts don't move hence they don't wear out !  Clear enough Mr. logic? ;)

This has to be the weakest attempt at pwnage I've ever seen.  First off, I can leave my PS3 on all night and not lose a wink of sleep.

And to give MS the way out with "oh, we play those things so much...", that is sooo weak.  You don;t think PS3 owners are using their systems???

I'm tired of this folklore used by Lemmings.  What 360 exclusives are you playing so crazy right now besides Gears?????  Give us something to miss lems.  We cows are quite content.  Mooooooo

The PS3 is a dust collector, not the 360. You can actualy PLAY GAMES on your 360.

This was funny. I never understood if the TC was being sarcastic or just stupid.

Word I leave my ps3 on overnight folding@home for days with no problems if the 360 is a quality console it should have no problems. My old cube fell down the stairs, had beer spilled in the top and survived me leaving the window open while it was raining. Good hardware is good hardware I may not like my wii but I know it won't break maybe the wii-mote strap will.

The 360 is pathetically made. My friend brought his over to play the Halo 3 beta and Gears of War, I was going to move it off the floor so the thing wouldn't overheat, and the disc drive goes crazy. Luckily it didn't scratch the disk. His old 360 scratched it before this though.

I tried the same thing with my PS3. I was twisting the thing in every direction and it just kept playing without any disruption.

Lol, 360 sales are stagnating, Wii will catch up soon, PS3 after, and 360 will be a dust collector. Next year I wonder if there will be any games for 360 :P

Lame damage control.

No I think the 360s breakdown rate does a good enough job of making itself look bad...
