Sorry if old but according to rumours Nintendo may be producing a secret HD Wii with up to 1080i resolution, a 160GB HDD and the capability to upscale DVDs to 1080i. I find this highly unlikely just because it seems odd. Plus alot of the current owners would be mad beyond explanation. What do you think?

linkifiedÂ
i would be so mad at Nintendo if they did that
The Elite 360 is different, the Elite doesnt make the console look or perform any better
an HD Wii would look a lot better, but it would be such a rip off to early adopters (like me)Â
[QUOTE="mis3ry"]So the new games would not be able to be played on an old Wii.TimstuffI hear that's the same problem Hugh Hefner has with his GFs. OH SNAP! :P  That was good.

What do you think?Won't happen this gen, since it would kill the Wii by creating a vastly different SKU and alienating 6 million+ Wii owners

[QUOTE="TrueReligion_"]Nintendo would be hypocrites if they released this "HD" Wii.fraz1776
Or it could be them saying they were wrong about it being too early for HD, which they weren't. NO chance of this "upgrade" EVER being released!!!!!
Why would Nintendo release this, if the demand for the Wii is so high? They are doing well right now, and new SKUs will bring them back in the console war. Nintendo needs to focus on strategically releasing first party titles, rather than make a new revision of an already good console.Sorry if old but according to rumours Nintendo may be producing a secret HD Wii with up to 1080i resolution, a 160GB HDD and the capability to upscale DVDs to 1080i. Nintendo needs to focus on strategically releasing first party titles, rather than make a new revision of an already good console. Well said, TrueReligion. Exactly, that's what I thought. Not happening. They would need to make the Wii more powerful in doing so, thus alienating early adopters, since new games will take advantage of the added power to the console. So the new games would not be able to be played on an old Wii.mis3ryBingo. Plus, they would be abandoning the whole philosophy behind the console in the first place. Not to mention, it's selling like madness. There isn't really a need for an upgrade, financially.
