am i the only one that is still amzined by the graphics and gameplay the ps3 and xbox 360 hav to offer. now without a doubt the pc has superiro controls for fps rts and better graphics. but still consoles are offering amazing graphics gameplay and downloads. consoles offer experiences that the pc does not even hav.

example of amazing games that ony consoles hav.

god of war collection

god of war 3

ninaj gaiden 2/sigma 2

alan wake

shadow complex

bayonetta

rachet and clank

and way way more.

and alot of these game are visually stunning. for a 5 year old consoles they are true showing and giving us experiences that even a 6000$ cant do.

I don't look at console games and find them lacking. I still find them great-looking, even though I game on a good PC.

I agree. With how far graphics have come, it amazes me to see some PC fans acting like the Xbox 360 and PS3 aren't good enough. My gaming PC graphics card is a little old now (8800 Ultra), but when it was working, I played Crysis on High settings twice, plus Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Dragon Age maxed out and at very high resolutions and it didn't stop me from appreciating what the consoles can do.

It's hard to be impressed when you see the potential put into PC games.

Especially since you are usually get more than twice the pixel count and higher details with higher AA and AF.

Also the scope you can get is larger.

Sure console games can look kind of nice but they usually make sacrifices in other areas.

Take for example Resident Evil Remake for the gamecube.

It used most of the resources on the character and used a 2d background.

The models in that game are pretty good even when comparing them to console game models from this gen.

Well, there's no point of a brand new generation so early, because it will result in a similar cycle - with fairly primitive games at launch while devs learn to juice the tech; and the PC will continue to evolve constantly. So limitation doesn't bother me at this point. I just enjoy whats on offer.

Consoles arepretty good. Better than most people'd give them credit for. Though $6000 is kind of an exaggeration for a gaming-quality PC (unless you're buying a Dell, Alienware, or some other pre-built BS advertised as the ultimate gaming machine)

Wow I didn't see that part until now.....he doesn't know you can build a 500USD PC that is 3-4 times as powerful as a console.

360 is five years old in a few months, its not exactly early... I don't get why the console guys don't do this like the PC. Put in a better CPU, gpu, more RAM... But 100% compatible cpu, just better. There would be no learning curve for a new system, and you'd have backwards compatibility.

Not exactly a plausible business model for a home console.

Well I would assume a company would want to make a maximum amount of profit from hardware/software - if you release a new system in the same console generation (i.e. 360, but upgraded) the newer games will render half of the hardware owners with the previous model unable to purchase these games. That's just me.

no seriously not joke thread.

if u want to play fighting game fan u need a console

if u like third person action adventure games u need a console.

if u like third person shooters u need a console

if u like sports games u need a console (playing with freinds fifa is always better on console that playing it on a pc.

i think pc gaming is only for fps and rts games. even then the consoles hav a list of outstanding fps not are not available on the pc.

I meant doing that AS the new system, not an upgraded 360 mid generation... it just seems creating a new architecture each generation is expensive and unneccessary. Especially the way Sony seems to go about it.. lol

Oh I see what you're saying, the Wii architecture is terribly similar to GC's - almost upgrades. My bad. You didn't mean mid-gen :P

Street fighter IV

Assassin's Creed 2

Gears of War

Tiger woods series.

Also just because it doesn't have bayonetta or god of war 3 doesn't mean it can'tgive you that experience, it just means the developers didn't put them on PC.

Also PC is better at adventure games, RPG's, Sim games, puzzle games, and indie games than any console, and of course if you include backwards compatability no console even touches the PC library.

If the PC is so much more powerful than consoles why isnt there games to prove it? The only game that really impressed me was Arma 2 in motion during a war. The animations, lighting and everything is amazing. Alot better than the jungle with nothing on screen but foil@ge and trees Crysis screenshots/videos that everyone shows off.

Most games are made with the lowest common denominator in mind. PC hardware is way a head of the software for the most part, obviously. And games that don't have godly demands will also sell better, making a game to cater to only a small percentage of the PC user base does not make financial sense.

No they are I can play all those genres on the PC.

Playing BlazBlue Calamity trigger and Continuum Shift right now. Good fighting games.

The PC has much more higher rated exclusives than consoles anyway, even when counting only this gen.

The PC is vastly more powerful when you're talking mid to high-end. Unfortunately there are many other variables besides system power, such as length of development cycles, development cost, potential market, potential sales etc, etc.

Yup. Not to mention there ARE many games that demonstrate this besides CRYSIS & Arma 2.

I don't get impressed by the technical aspects of console games anymore. But the quality of the games themselves? Certainly. A good game is a good game, regardless if another game is prettier.
