I'm still confused on why the DC died. Wasn't it the fastest console to reach 10mil?helium_flash

I'm still confused on why the DC died. Wasn't it the fastest console to reach 10mil?helium_flashI think it was...but when the PS2 released. DVD players were really wanted...so people just bought the PS2 instead. I'm not refering to PS3 or Blu Ray because Blu Ray isn't popular or wanted...at least not yet. Not like it was the case with the PS2. Dreamcast was really good actually...I'm pretty confused about it too. Still can't forget about Shenmue!

And the PS2 came out and nuked the competition. The Dreamcast and Sega really didn't deserve such a terrible fate. The DC was far ahead of it's time.Â

Judging by the fact that Sega released 2 new DC games this past year on a DEAD SYSTEM, I'd say plenty of people still care. Look around these forums; the DC is a fairly revered system. If you didn't/don't have one, you missed out. Ummmm k?

It would take me a while to do a step by step and i shouldn't talk on this forum. You can do it via illegal methods, but trust me it's friggin worth it, not only can you play emulators but PS1 games too. Search Google and you should find lots of stuff.Yeah, I was just checking prices on the DC today on Ebay, because I too am gonna buy a second one when I've got a little extra cash. I've got one, and my brother's got one, but something about having a second DC mint and boxed up all to myself still appeals to me...
Oh noes, teh two worst consoles in the history of videogames are dead!

So we're talking about the DC, and you bring up the Jaguar (and some other console)? Wrong topic, man (I'm assuming you're not referring to the DC or Saturn, because no one would ever admit their console ignorance by making said statement).
If I ever see a used saturn in the news paper or pawn shop I'm goona buy it.Random__GuyGetting the system is no problem at all. Getting the games is another matter.
Sad :(.
I wish I still had my Sega Dreamcast, but my brother traded to it once we got a PS2 for some lame scanner that never worked. I may purchase a mint one off of ebay once I get some cash as I really would like to own one again. I miss playing Shenmue dearly.

Yeah maybe if you fail at the internet : /. The system not only infact pwns the PSP for emulation it drives a stake into it for actually having some worth while games made for it. The only reason to emulate a PSP is to play old school Nes Snes and the few and far between PS1 games that dont freeze on load times. Lets face it the DC was great, it was even better when it said " Compatable with Windows NT" smack dab on the front of it. You pretty much burn games and they work, few need a witch CD and even less things are needed for a Emu Disk. The PSP you have to roll back your firm wear and have a nice size SD card to play most games, sad thing is the most PSP games play way better off an SD card and even us less battery life. That hand held is a joke.
This hardly matters at all.Panzer_ZweiFinally resigned yourself to it? Unfortunate...I would have liked to keep looking at the new releases from Japan (although I didn't really find much mind you..).

What stores you know that still have a good supply of Saturn and Dreamcast games? The support was only worthy in Japan where you can walk at any game store and get most Saturn and Dreamcast games at budget price without much problem as it they were PS player's hits games.

Saturn was the real underdog. Panzer will admit it. Its probably the best SHMUP system.kage_53It's the best in my opinion. Although the Mega Drive and PC-Engine had more exclusive games while most of the Saturn and then DC were more Arcade ports.

Some work some don't. But I think the mayority did work. The original Phantasy Star remake was good, same with Phantasy Star II, although I really hated the new artwork for that one. The Gain Ground remake was also good, same with Dragon Force. But the best thing is that they're at budget price.
Of course like you said, I would rather play them at my Saturn. Although, honestly, if I hadn't bought all my games back then, I don't think I would now, since I don't think any of them is worth expending more than $100 on, with the exception of maybe Radiant Silvergun, but only since I'm a big SHMUP fan, otherwise I wouldn't. So a release on some download service would be ideal.
