[QUOTE="Panzer_Zwei"][QUOTE="3KindgomsRandy"]Unfortunately, the Sega we all knew and loved died a long time ago. Now, all we get are crapped up versions of old classics like Phantasy Star, Sonic, and Shining Force.
As much as I would love it if a new Sega console came out, I fear it would be nothing but what we are already getting already, which is no more than the sullying of a once tremendous gaming company.

Actually, the SEGA that we all knew and love is still very well there. Though as much as people seem to be so stuck-up in so few games, they have always moved on.The people that made the Phantasy Star series, moved on to create the Sakura Taisen series that everybody loved, then they went to create Eternal Arcade that everybody also loved, then Shinobi then Senjou no Valkyria etc.
All this while people whined and whined about why no Phantasy Star.
I don't see how naming a few series that were never released outside of Japan has any relevance here. The problem Sega has is that it's ruined all of its bankable franchises.
Sounds like they're dead to me. Believe me, I wish it weren't so, but go ahead and list 5 high quality games that Sega has released since the Dreamcast went under that were available to the worldwide (or failing that, at least both Japan and NA) gaming population. You can even use Gamespot's ratings if you want, so subjectivity isn't (as much of) a factor.
I seriously can't think of that many.
Because they were successful games and highly relevant to them. The Sakura Taisen series, not relevant to you, turned to be quite relevant to SEGA when it became a phenomenon in Japan way beyond the Saturn system itself. So I don't think they would care in the least about what you find or not relevant.
And just because they don't happen to release things in your region means their dead and unsuccessful? If you didn't knew, they have been like this for a long time before the Dreamcast. And even the Dreamcast saw a whole lot of games left in Japan.
Again why would they care when they "are" successful in their homeland? Just as you don't seem to care about what Japanese are gaming, I'm sure they don't care about what you're gaming either.
SEGA has Japan full of 9-foor Club SEGAs and mega amusement parks, they alone revived and maintain the Arcade interest in the country, so you're telling me that because it is not so where you live, all of that is irrelevant?
I can understand that if you are not an importer, how then you couldn't care less about what they're releasing in Japan. But you have to be totally close-minded to think that everything revolves around you.
And even though as I have stated it's up to the each gamer to stay region-locked, I will amuse you and post "some" of their great games they have released after the Dreamcast, and which saw and overseas release.
- House of the Dead 3,4
- Jet Set Radio Future

And that's leaving aside all the games that they have published like Otogi, Condemned, Chromehounds, Crush etc.
