Sega Next Gen Console

They should definitley release another system; getting sick of sony and M$ always trying to make each other look suboridinate to one another.

Personally, I thought the dreamcast was great, but Sega just kinda gave up after it didn't do so well and started to lay low making sonic games (which are still awesome)

They won't be releasing a Console again. If they do they'll stuff it up. Best for them to just stick to making quality games.

They are far smaller then any of the big 3 they would have no chance in hell. 

considering they could barely compete with nintendo let alone sony , the days  of sega releasing consoles are over,  its time you face it, the dc was very over rated any way im sick of people saying dc was this and that,  ive owned a dc for quite some time and honestly every game i played on it  was average besides sonic 2 and   metropolis street racer   as well as 101 dalmations and tony hawk 2 

that said if you want a company closer to sega stick w nintendo

I do agree that they don't have the money for it; That is one reason why they cancelled bayonetta 2.

Sega sucks most of the time, there are loads of publishers who could develop a better system.

I'd buy a Take two, Ubisoft, EA, heck even square-enix or capcom console before I'd even consider Sega.

Console games are one of their least profitable businesses.

They make more money off arcade, and PC games now, so I really doubt they care about getting back into the console fight.

Here's the thing, if there was an opening they would have done it before 2011 this gen if anything, it's way to late now when you look at it.

At this point, Sega nor Sammy which they are together, have the combined income to take a console launch just in certain areas of asia that are limited, just the UK in europe, and NA, they would already be on suicide watch if the first month backfired.

They have tons of Ips, and machines and toys and such under both their names, so you may say that they could get together with a partner like EA or something to launch the console, however, they would be wasting tons of money and not getting back all profit that should belong to them as well as licensing agreements and other contracts that they are contracting has COMPLETE control of. If it backfired, that company would jump ship and Sega would suffer because with Segas current economic situatioon combined with Sammies, no company is going to take a full on risk with them, so Sega would be left alone with all the debt and all the unsold stock and Sega would be in a mes.s.

Then there may be some of you that say that they could  do what Hudon did with Nec where a company, say for example. Squarenix, could make a console or another company, and Sega could provide the software if they share profits and are allowed to slap Segas name on it. Well once again, Sega is going into contract with Square in this example, for software on the console under their name, so yes, Square will share profit with the console, but if it fails, Square could cut out at any time and leave all the unsold consoles, all the debt, all the software backsales, and etc. only on Sega, and being able to get rid of their small part.

The only way Sega's name will be on a console is if someone ELSE offers to make games for it or to distribute it for Sega at a low cost or free and now one will do that. Or the other unliekly option is if someone like namco-bandai decided to do a fusion with Sega-Sammy, and be one company.

only bad choice sega have done recently is not bringing over virtual on on psn as a part of the am2 board collection since it was the only game i was wanting in that collection but its japan only, now i have to go in to the attic and get virtual on and a saturn from it :(

Sega wastes to much $... Just look at ACM... Paid a dev and gave them years to make it... Turned out to be a POS.

I feel bad for Sega. They were HW innovators. Sega channel was the future and upgradable consoles are still ahead of the curve. Cost them $.

Really don't see them ever coming back. They were to good for their own good.

So heres why they will never release another console... Sega Sammy has about $4 billion dollars.  They managed to cut there losses and somehow still manage to have $4 billion dollars.  Now to release another console they will have to invest lets say 2 billion, theres NO WAY the company owners and shareholders will ever want to risk going bankrupt on another failed Sega console.  Lets face it, the Saturn failed hard and the Dreamcast failed hard (when it came to money).  

They didnt even have to balls to keep the dreamcast alive for more than 2 years they wont have the balls to develop and release another console.

Well thats not fair, since SEGA released some great consoles

SEGA MASTER SYSTEM, SEGA MEGA DRIVE & DREAMCAST were great consoles...
